PBMarlin
Al sure can't complain about a lack of run support. The offense bailed him out of another questionable outing and he just managed to pick up the W............. .............and managed to raise his ERA from 6.06 to 6.20 in the process. :thumbdown
Guest FishFanInPA
im awaiting what happens when Ish comes back and we have two spots in the rotation where the SP only goes 5.
Guest Fritz
Another reason why the win is the most overrated pitching stat in the whole world.
Marlins2003
If Logan Kensing is the best AA has to offer it may be awhile before Jeremy Hermida is major league-ready. I like Kensing, I think he'll be a terrific pitcher some day, and he might be a terrific pitcher tomorrow after his appearance tonight gives him something to reflect on, but aside from one really good changeup, the Rays had his number, and quickly. Marlins2003
When l picks up the pace he seems to do much better than when he "thinks" too long about the next pitch. I can't put my finger on it but when he got the ball back from LoDuca and just went about pitching he was fine. I started timing (as in "one thousand one, one thousand two...") between pitches and the longer he took to deliver the next pitch the greater lielihood it wuld be a ball. I don't know if anyone else noticed this or not, or agrees, but by the third inning I thought it was quite predictable.

Kensing is arguably the 4th best pitcher on the Mudcats staff, let alone the best there is in AA
Dodge
Well, if we were going to lose a game, it was going to be this one. We have AJ and Dontrelle next (right?), so we should sweep these fellas. *knocking on wood*

FishFan24
Moehler will have to completely bomb for the rest of the season to get his job back. I'm glad thats the way it'll be. :thumbup

DVH & Roxy made it seem like he was missing with his fastball a lot. That happened last year too.

I'm sure if PB was there from his seats he'd agree there was no fear on the part of the Rays in facing him. But you're right he was consistently off the plate with his fastball. Whether that was by design or accidental we'll never know.
PBMarlin
Unfortunately I wasn't there, but did see the pitch on the tele. Waltz called it a curve, but it did look more like a nice slider. Hey, the kid threw a quality pitch when it counted, so give him credit for that. He seems to lack control to a degree, so yes the Rays were just waiting for him to make a mistake. I expect Kensing will only be used in long relief until Mota returns.
farmer_fran
I think Kensing has at least earned a couple more innings. If he settles down a little he could be a very good pitcher for us. His fastball has an unbelievable amount of downward movement, and his slider is nasty when he keeps it down. I hope that he'll gain confidence from yesterday's outing and maybe he'll be able to locate his pitches better.
