PBMarlin
A bit of a surprise, and huge improvement over last year is our bench play. Easley comes in the game for Castillo or Gonzalez and hardly misses a beat defensively while adding some pop to the lineup. Harris is hitting an unbelievable .412. Conine, who can start in the OF or 1B is hitting a solid .289 Aguila is solid at all OF positions and is hitting a respectable .250 Joe Dillon joins the group and knocks in a game winning HR. Nice, very nice.
Beinfest4Prez
The great teams always have above-average if not outstanding benches.
fanofthefish
I like it, even with Lenny on the bench. As long as he keeps hitting like he is he deserves his spot.

Treanor is hitting .313, and solid defensively as a back-up catcher.

farmer_fran
I wish Jack would utilize Conine and Aguila a little bit more though. Aguila only has like 12 at-bats this season. Pierre hasn't been playing all that great lately, I'd like to see what Aguila could do, he's just wasting away on the bench.

rferry
I thought there was a lot more room for improvement, even on a budget, but, hey, these guys are getting it done and Jack is not pressing the matter with his moves.
