Accord
Some guy in my league offered to trade me BJ Ryan for Trevor Hoffman, should I give up Hoffman for Ryan?
Iowa
Yes Ryan is one of the top strikeout relief pitchers in the game

TSwift25
I wouldn't have unless you really needed K's or K/9 is a category. Hoffman'll get more save opps with the kind of teams the Padres have. It's not a bad deal either way, but it's a personal preference thing...
WildMarlinMan2003
Id rather take Hoffman. He should stock pile saves because the Pads are going to the playoffs this year. I think Baltimore will slide in the 2nd half.
FreshFish
too late I guess, but my vote would have been to keep Hoffman
Iowa
You made the right choice. Ryan could end up being the top closer in baseball. Ryan is on pace for around 150 strikeouts... more then double Hoffman. They're save opps will be about the same.... the fact is, Hoffman is a lot more hittable then he used to be. He'll blow more saves and his ERA will be higher. BJ Ryan is this years Brad Lidge.

Heckeroo
I would've taken BJ as well. Hoff aint what he used to be.
METSrosexual
I have BJ on my fantasy team and have had no complaints all year. He's got more K's than some of my starters. Total animal. You did the right thing, dont second guess it.
flasportsfan88
Um BJ Ryan is the guy that notoriously has upset fantasy owners because of Baltimores offense that has lef to very few save attempts, at Petco theres plenty of close games, Padres are solid this year and Hoffman is still a great closer, dumb trade... Guest Juanky
He's been worthless as a holds man, Julio was closer before. Now the O's are a first place team, Ryan will get saves, and he is just sick with it.
chefbob
get ryan, O's are hot.

Fishfan79
If it is a keeper league then go ahead with it. If it isnt I wouldnt bother for it. I think Ryan will cool off, they are really stressing that bullpen and eventually their bats will cool off. I think Hoffman will end up with More Saves, but it depends upon the catagories out there.
