Posted May 22, 200519 yr http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/05/20/...ain696975.shtml Go Amy! This kind of pledge is something I would expect her to keep, but being on 60 Minutes talking about it shocked me. She just came back from illness and I hope one of my best friends can stay happy and healthy with this pledge.
May 22, 200519 yr (Amy on the left...) Amy Fritsche and Rick Gutierrez plan to do what more than two million young people have already done in the past 10 years ? take a pledge to remain virgins until marriage. Good luck to Amy!
May 22, 200519 yr Just look at Rick's face, he is saying to himself "How did I get suckered into this!", poor Rick. Either two things happen here, they get married before they are 19 or they just say the hell with it.

May 23, 200519 yr ROFL Gooch.... By the way kids, ever heard of these "condom" things? I mean I know Bush is spending mountains of money to preach the abstinence route, but sheesh, seems awfully drastic just to make a point. But hey this is certainly another way to go! Didn't the guy say that he'd had sex before in the past? So he's just going to wait this time because it's her? Wow, kid's got more willpower than I did as a teenager, I'll grant him that. .... or else he's got something going on with her best friend, one or the other. j/k
May 23, 200519 yr Author Don't know him, just Amy. I read in the paper that he goes to Riverdale. Saw her today, she looked really happy and healthy thank god. She had a pretty bad illness earlier in the school year.

Abstinence is a joke. Kids when they have a chance to have sex, they are going to do it. I preaced abstinence when I was 14, then I had my first chance, and I laughed at abstinence.

May 25, 200519 yr Boy, do we have some immature people in here. What ever happened to respecting other people's opinions? I mean I love the sex, but if someone wants to practice abstinence, more power to them.

May 25, 200519 yr Making a cheap mockery of their decision is not respecting their decision 782815[/snapback] I was making a joke. But yes, I do believe that the majority of these 'pledges' wont come true and the like. Get off your high horse man.
