no team is gonna take Kendall..... unless Giles goes too

Giles is out of the question with this team.....

Cabs has 22rbi in 111ab i think, Drew has 29rbi in 190ab i think....

Naughty Ramp....RBI arnt a very good skill indicator. why not? If a guy gets 120 RBI+ you dont think that is something special? Id rather take a guy who hits for power, walks, and plays good defense then look at RBI. RBI isnt a number used to evaluate skill.

Encarnancion is cheap and his still has untap potential.

.866ops for Cabs and Drew's is .873

pretty darn close

oh and Drew has a history of breaking and getting hurt... We need a power lefty so bad, trust me...If he gets hurt just throw Cabs back in there...its not like we are giving up the farm for Drew. Cabs could even play a little 1B until Lee comes back...and could possibly stay up to platoon with Drew against lefties.

RBI's tell you alot about player productivity on offense but I'm not surprise coming from you.

Hes going to get expensive in the next 2 years.

as long as we arent giving up the farm, its cool.....

i still want sully though

Not really..His salary won't go up too much unlike your boy Lee.

Question are the Marlins looking to keep Drew or rent him?

RBI's tell you alot about player productivity on offense but I'm not surprise coming from you. Would you say they are a better measure of power then HR's? Or maybe a better indicator of plate discipline then walks? Or PERHAPS! a better measure of batting average then hits? Please. Its just a stat used by the media which you readily accept, and doesnt really explain any skill a player has. But can we please not argue about this? Its not like you are going to all of sudden stop being hard headed.

Maybe because Lee will be a GG defender and will hit 35 HR's? lol, please think these things out before you start typing away.

he would cost $4mil+ in arb next year.....

same probably goes for Enc too(maybe a little less)

Yes it sucks being second in the team in hr with 22 and Encarnancion has a little less than half of his hr's but has more rbi's.His hitting is nothing to rave about.

bottom line Encarnancion will be cheaper and worth keeping at next year price tag compare to Lee.

Good news...

I think Beinfest is thinking Cabrera at 1b next year while Drew and Encarncion patrol the OF.

this is true and that is why getting drew is a great move. This year he would fit perfect on bench unless cabs or encarnacion starts to play bad, he serves as great insurance for them. Then next year for similar price tags i would rather have JD in right, especially if encarnacion continues on his hitting slump.

Next year the marlins will probably trade Lee in the off season and sign and keep Drew and Juan. Cabs will probably take over at first. Or maybe Drew goes to first since he's a lefty and is less likely to get injured there.

either way - a deal to get Drew here would help the marlins this year and for years to come!

yeah because Encarnacion certainly can't play defense....

RBIs may not be your idea of a skill number...

How about games missed to injury, does that one count for you?

I was told that the deal for Drew has been on going for the last 3 weeks and that the Marlins just pulled the plug on the deal. Also, Diamondback Dave Delucchi (sp) just got a call during dinner that he was traded to New York.

pulled meaning?

it is or isnt going thru?

Im wondering samething..

Marlins pulled the plug ? what they do waiting for 2morrow to announce the deal ?

this is driving me crazy

pulled the plug.... is that a go or a no?

I'm guessing a no but I hope it is a go.

Pull the trigger = did the deal

Pull the plug = didn't do the deal

I think.
