I thought this would be a cool running thread ofr the rest of the season, tracking potenital CY Young candidates. I posted what I thought were the top 5 in each league with a few players worthy of being on the bubble. Ill update this top post whenever players start and move them up or down when I deem neccessary.

Feel free to debate, complain, agree, bitch, laugh, or anyother Bradcore related emotion you wish to display in this thread.

Pedro's numbers are just flat out sick.

*Agreed*

I think he should start the ASG.

Isn't Morris 8-0?

D Train easy...better record, better ERA (by almost a full run).

Balancing out record, ERA, and strikeouts, it goes like this

National League

1. Jake Peavy (3rd in ERA, 2nd in strikeouts, 6th in W-L record)

2. Pedro Martinez (7th in ERA, 1st in strikeouts, 5th in W-L record)

3. Roger Clemens (1st in ERA, 4th in strikeouts, 10th in W-L record)

4. Dontrelle Willis (2nd in ERA, 15th in strikeouts, 2nd in W-L record)

5. Brett Myers (4th in ERA, 5th in strikeouts, 22nd in W-L record)

6. Chris Carpenter (11th in ERA, 3rd in strikeouts, 7th in W-L record)

7. Matt Morris (13th in ERA, 32nd in strikeouts, 1st in W-L record

8. Livan Hernandez (16th in ERA, 20th in strikeouts, 3rd in W-L record)

9. Adam Eaton (17th in ERA, 26th in strikeouts, 4th in W-L record)

10. Brian Moehler (5th in ERA, 59th in strikeouts, 48th in W-L record)

I'll take Garland in the AL.... and Livan in the NL.

Brian Moehler would be in there if the Marlins had more runs scored for him.

Updated.

Mark Buehrle close to no.1 in the AL.

Kenny Rogers moving down.

Chris Carpenter added to the top 5 and Jake Peavy put on the bubble.

How about Jesse Crain for the AL? He's 6-0 with a 1.04 ERA. :thumbup

he's also a reliever, Gagne won it in 03"

My money is on Livan

It's funny how almost everyone in the A.L. that's going to the ASG is in the East, but over here, out of the top 5 pitchers, only 1 is from the East, and he's #5.

Smoltz is being snubbed.

Isn't Morris 8-0?

I'm sorry, but Peavy hasn't pitched better than Willis. Carpenter at number two is really iffy.

Pedro, Clemens, and Willis should be 1a, 1b, 1c. Smoltz and Carpenter should be 2a and 2b. Livan is really sneaking up on this. I wouldn't be suprised to see him win it if he keeps his streak up.
