Marlins2003
Do you think the front office will make MAJOR CHANGES over the All-Star break?
PBMarlin
I very much wish they would, but don't expect anything to happen until closer to the trading deadline. My guess is they will tread water to see what kind of team they have coming out of the break.
Hotcorner
I think there will be shake ups, but not quite yet...
Accord
Last year, while the shakeups were good, they came way too late.
rferry
We're still waiting on the threat from the month of May
954718
Not that we want to have a Steinbrenner type owner (the reactions of course, we'll take the pocketbook), but when an owner puts out a product with the highest payroll in team history and the biggest Spring expectations for a Marlins team since 1997 and the result is LWLWLWL instead of WWWWLWW, some moves need to be made (coaching staff and players) before the season is lost. As a small market team, moves have to be very calcluated, but last year, the moves came way too late. They can't afford to make the same mistake this year. Â My first move would be to release Al Leiter fluid and eat the contract, because right now, the FO is throwing $$$ on him right now as is. What's more important, eating the cash and having youngsters with promise pitch in the rotation, or a guaranteed loss with a 3-4 inning performance by a starting pitcher? To me, losses can never be made up, and by giving away at least 5 games already this year, that leads to a worse record, less fans, and less $$$ rolling in the cash register. Marlins2003
I haven't weighed in on this although I posed the question in the poll, but in my mind, the time to reconstitute the team is now, during the break, and let the chips fall where they may. Â I say that knowing it takes two to tango and other teams (potential trade partners) may not be so inclined to act now, during the break. Â I am concerned that by waiting until the end of the month, moves may be irrelevant.
FreshFish
No. The FO did their piece during the off season. They won't give up valuable prospects with a team that is not showing any heart
wanks1212
Should there be some kind of shakeup? Probably, but I'd guess it won't come until the end of July, at the earliest.
D-Train35
During the break? No. After the break? Probably.
TSwift25
Not likely at the break...too many teams that were sure fire sellers now think they have a chance of playing meaningful ballgames again. Unless Brian Fuentes constitutes a major move, I doubt we do much this weekend. Perhaps after the team returns home from this road swing, maybe even as soon as this coming weekend if we struggle in Philly, but not now.
