The Pittsburgh Pirates have all but decided they will be unable to sign left-hander Mark Redman as a free agent and will likely move him before the July 31 non-waiver trading deadline. Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston and Texas were among the teams who scouted Redman's last start, and the Chicago White Sox and Florida are believed to have strong interest in trading for him.

Mark Redman

Chicago Tribune (registration required): "Crede's solid defense has quieted much of the talk about the Sox's need to upgrade at third base, even as scouts from at least nine teams (including Philadelphia and Florida) attended Saturday night's game with Oakland."

Joe Crede Rumor??

"They would part with Sean Burroughs for a more productive option at third base, and Dave Roberts' patellar problems have them trolling for a center fielder as well... The Padres had a scout at Dolphins Stadium last week, and the Marlins have shown interest in several Padres relievers."

Padres Relievers......Linebrink Maybe???

Newark Star-Ledger (scroll down) (registration required): "The Marlins are among the teams showing interest, but teams need to see Affeldt pitch a few games before deciding whether to pursue him...Florida also is intrigued by Orioles left-hander Steve Kline, who wants out of Baltimore."

Kline and Affeldt??

Philadelphia Inquirer (scroll down) (registration required): "The Marlins are very much alive in the NL East and wild-card races, yet trade rumors continue to swirl around righthanderA.J. Burnett. Scouts for the Yankees, Braves and Nationals watched him strike out 14 and walk five against Milwaukee on Wednesday. "

AJ Rumors

Newark Star-Ledger (scroll down) (registration required): "Arizona continues to hound the Devil Rays about closer Danys Baez, but there's a long line. Florida, Atlanta and Boston are among the contenders who are vying for Baez's services."

Danys Baez

I like the positive rumors out there.....at least there's good vibes from the GM.

Baez? Oh my....

Baez and Redman are probably the two that merit watching, Redman would be a wonderful addition, and Baez would add another setup / closer option... just in case.

Crede?

please no

1. Yes, so long as we keep Big Red for next year which I think is very possible.

2. Haha....no

3. Depends on what we need to give up.

4. Again depends on what we have to give.

5. DO NOT GIVE HIM TO THE BRAVES OR NATIONALS.

6. I still like Baez out of every reliever avaliable out there, get him out of TB and see what he can do.

I like Redman if we can keep him for next year

Crede?

please no

It may be Mav, that Crede would go somewhere else and you-know-who might (pure speculation) might take his place. The Marlins obviously have a third baseman in waiting in Cabrera so it's impossible for me to even consider the notion that we'd be trading for one.

Redman is having a great year. He's much better than Leiter.

Crede?

I'd love for it to happen, but do the White Sox have the money to take on Lowell's contract? I don't see us trading Lowell if we had to pay for part of his salary.
