CapeFish
Through 47 home games at Dolphins Stadium, The Marlins have drawn 1,052,102 fans through the turnstiles of Dolphins Stadium. That is an average of 22,385 per game. That represents a 61.6% capacity rate of the total 36,331 per game. This has nothing to do with Lee's statements.....I was planning to do it tonight. Accord
We're on pace to draw 1.8 million this year, that's pretty damn good considering how bad we've been. If we can get back into the race and have a couple of big series, we could easily reach 2 million.

Between all the bad teams on weekends and the road series on the weekends...there really haven't been many games. 851525[/snapback] thats absolutely true, think of the last 7 home games...against the braves and cubbies, i'd say normally we'd draw at least 25k on a weeknight for the braves, given clear conditions and 30 for the cubs, pu them on weekends and i'd say we could easily have 30 for each of the braves and 40 for the cubs... so u look at if they were weekend series thats 190,000 for weekdays and 240,000 if they were on weekends...now factor in the bad weather and you hardly get 20, or 140,000. and we don't need a roof? As far the WS, the Yankees fans made up a small minority. I know because I was there. :thumbup It also doesn't help that Miami is one of the places everyone from up north wants to escape to. 954718
Good Morning all. Like Cape, I thought of this yesterday before I read or heard about DLee comment's. Listening to Boog's show yesterday (Marlins attendance intensive) made me head to the internet, etc. to any of the multitude of sites which keep track of attendance. Part A: Here is an interesting way to look at the MLB attendance with each teams attendance average next to their respective standings. The AL Central by far is the worst supported division, probably because most of the teams there aren't appealing. Chisox fans have finally picked up from where they were earlier in the season (very bad) and are somewhat acknowledging their teams performance on the field. MLB, despite public perception, is more popular now than ever. In 2005, MLB Teams have drawn 40,020,997 so far this year over 1,308 games for a 30,597 average per game (68% capacity), only the 4th time the average has ever surpassed 30,000. In 2004, MLB Teams drew a record 73,022,972 over 2,428 games for a 30,075 average. Record average of 31,256 was set in 1994 (Record average over full season was 30,964 in 1993). Not to mention they are the reason for the housing market in Miami.........and they go to Marlins games to root against the Marlins ......I think a wall to keep the Snow Birds out is desperately needed !!! :thumbup
