I'd take Carlos Lee over Edmonds but a pretty decent job all around. I'd also try and make room for DTrain on the list even though its hard to argue against any of the other pitchers mentioned.

Gonzalez, Furcal over Vizquel for gold glove. I find it hard to believe DLee will get dethroned from his GG at 1B, especially with the offense he's putting up. ;)

Chris Young gets my AL ROY, Willy Tavares my NL ROY.

for GG SS, it's a close race between Izturis and Vizquel, and with Izturis on the DL, Vizquel becomes an easy choice...also, Derek Lee was already dethroned last year...Helton is doing slightly better and should win #4(of course if it weren't for injuries/ being platooned, JT Snow's gold glove streak would still be going)

I didn't realize Chris Young was a rookie...if i had, he would've been my vote

Whats the reasoning for Izturis and Vizquel? Gonzalez and Furcal have way more assists, double plays and putouts.. and its really not close. They have much better range than Vizquel which can attribute to more errors. I'd probably give the GG to Furcal with Gonzalez in a very very close 2nd.

I'm only doing the core ones for now, too early for the others:

MVP- Derrek Lee, Vlad Guerrero

Cy Young- Dontrelle Willis, Roy Halladay (too bad he got hurt)

Rookie of the Year- Felipe Lopez (I think he's a rookie but if he isn't I give it to Elison), Taduhito Iguchi

Manager of the Year- Bobby Cox (ugh), Ozzie Guillen

in terms of zone rating, which is the best way to determine how much range a SS has s "The percentage of balls fielded by a player in his typical defensive "zone," as measured by STATS, Inc."), the rankings look like this:

1. Vizquel .876

2. Gonzalez .865

3. Furcal .865

4. Izturis .847

so as you can see, Vizquel has had the best zone rating of the four, and if you go by fielding percentage:

1. Vizquel .992

2. Furcal .987

3. Gonzalez .979

4. Izturis .976

so as these two stats show, unlike some guys with high fielding percentage, he doesn't have a high FP due to lack of range, it's due to that he never makes a mistake in the field

The one flaw is range factor:

1. Furcal 5.49

2. Gonzalez 5.31

3. Izturis 4.7

4. Vizquel 4.69

the thing is with this, is that vizquel doesn't have as many balls hit to him...if it were because of a lack of range, then his stats in the other two categories wouldn't be so high

ANother thing to take into account is the x-factor, the judgement one can get by watching them play...this is where Izturis moves ahead of Gonzalez and Furcal and up there with Vizquel...Vizquel and Izturis make playing the position of SS an art form...based on watching them play, Vizquel and Izturis are about equal, but with the much better stats, my vote goes to Vizquel

Bobby Cox playing with however many rookies he's got with injuries to like 4 starting pitchers, an injury to Chipper Jones, and no closer, deserves MOY... as much as i hate to say it.

as long as the Nationals remain in first place, Robinson is hands down the winner, for the following reasons

1. the Nationals are 52-36, have given up more runs than they have scored, are 8 games above the exW-L, and are 24-10 in one run games...it situations like that, it's normally because of the manager

2. the fact that the team formerly known as the Expos are in first place...he turned the franchise around, they went from a last place team before he took over, to back to back above .500 seasons (first time above .500 since 96, first back to back above .500 seasons since 93/94), and aside from that one off year last year, they have showed constant improvement under his wing, slowly evolving into a first place team

3. they never give it to the same manager in consecutive years

IMO the race is between Robinson and Manuel
