Brandman316
From Foxsports.com,Heres the Link "The Heat also reached a preliminary agreement with Matt Walsh, another former ? and undrafted - Florida product who's also represented by Levien. Contract arrangements are still being worked out, Levien said, but it's believed the sides will agree on a two-year deal worth in the range of $1.2 million. Walsh left Florida after his junior season, but never heard his name called on draft night. He was the MVP of the Southeastern Conference tournament this past March, and averaged 14.6 points and shot a team-best 42.6 percent from 3-point range for the Gators in 2004-05. The Heat signed Walsh to their summer-league team currently playing in Long Beach, Calif. But the team opted to use its lone draft pick on power forward Wayne Simien, the Big 12's player of the year from Kansas." I like this pick up for Miami. I was surprised he wasn't drafted in the NBA Draft after he had left in his Junior Year. Kid is a good shooter who could possibly help Miami down the road. Haslem was a non drafted player from Florida, and so is Walsh. You never know what can happen...................

I'm a bit shocked that they gave him a guaranteed deal though. What they see in him that few others have seen is beyond me. Granted we are only talking about 600k per season...but thats still a very nice chunk of change for a guy that wasnt even drafted and has really not proven himself outside of the NCAA. Mark
Expect heart and hustle, but I was never a fan of Walsh as a supporter of Florida basketball. He always slowed down the offense quite a bit and never really was under control with the ball. He just didn't fit in with the Gators offense, I wonder how he'll do with the Heat? Will be fun to watch and see if he can produce anything for that team.

He had a smooth post game for college and is like 6'11'', 7ft. I think he played overseas and in the NBDL as well. He always was a nice role player in college IMO, but he is nothing special.
