Accord
The draft plan is all lined out: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature.asp?fid=7314 Basically, every team in the lottery starts out with 3 balls and then for every playoff appearance in the last 3 years or #1 draft pick in the last four years, a team loses one ball but every team is guaranteed to have at least one ball. So if you made the playoffs the past three years, you get only 1 ball.  The Sabres, Columbus, Rangers, and Pittsburgh are the only teams with 3 balls, a handfull have 2 balls, and the rest all have 1. GUARANTEED that the NHL chose this system for the lottery solely because the Rangers would have the best chance of winning, so then they can justify the Rangers landing the #1 pick saying they had the best odds when people claim it was fixed, which it probably is. Unfortunately, the Panthers only have 1 ball so our chances are 1/46 to land Crosby, but i'd be glad to see him go to the Sabres since I still root for them from when I lived there. The lottery will be on Thursday, July 21st and the draft will be on July 30th. Beinfest4Prez
IF the Panthers had the luck of landing the number one pick, I would die. Crosby would be amazing on this team. Growing up along side of Horton, Weiss, Bouwmeester, Van Ryn, Nederost, Kraijeck. I can't wait to see the draft regardless.
JetsMania
It sucks we got penalized for getting the number one pick even though we traded it away. But it seems pretty fair. We have to wait for both sides to sign the deal so all this can be official
AGonzalez11
Bettman is a clown -- punishing a team for being bad is just asinine -- Panthers got hosed moreso than any other team in the NHL.
Guest Fritz
The Rangers will get Crosby. The fix is already in the works. All the other lottery balls will be weighted down so the Rangers will go right to the top.

I think its perfectly fair what they did. And if the Rangers do get it, there will be a lot of angry fans just from conspiracy theory. Guest Juanky
Punishing a team for being bad is unheard of - what other sport would do this? That's a really stupid way to run things personally, and that's not just as a Panther fan. If Columbus gets him, that team will be absolutely ridiculous within two years.
