Game 1, 3:05 EDT, FSN Florida

Josh Beckett, RHP (10-6, 3.51) vs Sunny Kim, RHP (1-2, 6.14)

In line for a win in his last start, at St. Louis, Beckett instead settled for a no-decision after he gave up four runs in 6 1/3 innings. Bothered by an upset stomach, Beckett winded after throwing 101 pitches. The four runs allowed by the right-hander were his most since giving up four on June 14 at the Cubs. That day he experienced a blister problem and went on the disabled list. On the road, Beckett is 3-4 with a 4.38 ERA.

Kim will be making his first start for the Rockies since being claimed off waivers from the Nationals, though he went at least five innings and allowed two runs or less in both of his starts with Washington this year. He also made 10 relief appearances. Kim will be looking to prove to the Rockies brass that he should stay at the Major League level.

Game 2, approx. 6:30 EDT

Ismael Valdez, RHP (1-0, 4.50) vs. Byung-Hyun Kim, RHP (2-8, 5.14)

The veteran right-hander opened the Marlins' road trip on a successful note, collecting a win at St. Louis on a day he gave up four runs on eight hits over five innings. This will be Valdez's third start since coming off the disabled list, where he was out with a stress fracture to his right fibula. Valdez has also made one relief appearance. He continues to build up innings and arm strength. He has thrown 10 innings in three games.

Kim, acquired from Boston, has struggled mightily, giving up 10 earned runs, six hits and 11 walks in 9 1/3 innings out of the Rockies bullpen. Last year with the Red Sox, Kim was 1-1 with a 6.17 ERA in three starts, and is 4-7, 4.08 in 16 total career starts.
