September 6, 200519 yr if they get Bonds at 70% or better, the Giants still has a chance to win that division.
September 6, 200519 yr The Giants are 5 games behind the NL West "juggernaut" Padres and 9.5 games behind in the WC. Their ONLY chance at making the playoffs is to overtake the Pads and they have a 3 game and a 4 game series to do it. The intersting thing is that they both play an equally weak schedule for the remainder of the year. I don't know if I would let Barry play this year. He means too much to them NEXT year...
September 6, 200519 yr Worthless cheater needs to just stay away. Retire and make everyone happy. 932086 I want to see him play - if he retires, I'd be disappointed.
September 6, 200519 yr Worthless cheater needs to just stay away.? Retire and make everyone happy. 932086 I want to see him play - if he retires, I'd be disappointed. 932098 I would not be. He is not great, he is a cheater, and is nothing but a disgrace to the game. I feel the same about McGwire and Palmeiro. There are other people out there that you should want to see play, that are true heroes to the game, not a scumbag like Bonds. But although I dont understand why you want to see a worthless cheater I respect your opinion.
September 6, 200519 yr The Giants really could still win the west. The Padres have to be shaking in their shoes...
September 6, 200519 yr The Giants can make a run for the division crown, but you can't assume Barroid Bonds is going to do much of an impact considering how long he's been away, still his presence alone can really change a lineup.
September 6, 200519 yr Wow, just when I stopped caring about this guy. At least he's a lot smarter than Raffy.
September 6, 200519 yr Woohoo.. More MVP talk for Barry.. ESPN will be on his nuts all the time.. Yippie..
September 7, 200519 yr I would feel better about myself if I rooted for the terrorists in the war on terror than I would rooting for Barry Bonds.
September 7, 200519 yr The real question, if Barry's return wins the west for the Giants, does he win the MVP? I only ask this because I'm sure some jouralists will actually consider it.
September 7, 200519 yr Oh, you guys are just upset he's coming back after the Giants already passed through Florida
September 7, 200519 yr Oh, you guys are just upset he's coming back after the Giants already passed through Florida I would have done anything to be there if that was his first game back from his fag injury. I would have flown back from Taiwan for a day just to do it.
September 7, 200519 yr man...stop with all the hate.....Not every player in sports has to be the "good guy."
September 7, 200519 yr I hope he leads the Giants to the division title 933292 Right on....I hope we have a Marlins-Giants rematch.
September 7, 200519 yr Why should the hate be stopped? He is the one player that it would be absolutely bad for baseball for him to break the home run record.

September 7, 200519 yr Why should the hate be stopped? He is the one player that it would be absolutely bad for baseball for him to break the home run record. 933298 He has not failed a steroid test yet....Some of your supposed good guys could be roiding just as much.....Palmeiro was a good guy and now look at him....Hell....Cabs or Lowell could be roidin....
September 7, 200519 yr man...stop with all the hate.....Not every player in sports has to be the "good guy." 933289 :thumbup (wow, we agree on something) I think I understand your point, Juanky, it would be nice if this guy was a role model. But he has never wanted to be one. Partly because of what the press put his father through. He has presented himself in an aloof manner to the press and fans throughout his career. Yet he's reamed and disrespected and poked at by nearly every media writer for that choice. Why won't they just let it go? He shouldn't be expected to be act like a role model because some beat writer wants a story or some fan looks at his game or great stats and idolizes him. There's Barry Bondses in professional sports, and there's the Todd Joneses and there's a lot lot in between.

He has not failed a steroid test yet....Some of your supposed good guys could be roiding just as much.....Palmeiro was a good guy and now look at him....Hell....Cabs or Lowell could be roidin....And I haven't brought up roids yet in this conversation now, have I? Fact of the matter is, whether he has been found guilty or not, when you ask the avid baseball fan who is the absolute first player they think of when they think of steroids, I would say that even to this day at least 4 out of every 5 if not 9 out of every 10 say Barry Bonds. Has he failed a test? To our knowledge, no. But people don't get called into Federal Court just to amuse the Judge who happens to be on the bench that day. Barry Bonds, fairly or not, personifies everything that has been wrong with baseball since the Juiced Era began. It isn't that he's failed a drug test, because he hasn't. It isn't that he hates the media, because plenty of people either hate the media or just flat out ignore it. Alot of it probably has to do with his openly having a disrespect for arguably the most important part of baseball, its past, having physical confrontations with teammates as recent as this season, and echoing everything that you don't want someone on your team to be. Oh, by the way, he's also allegedly the biggest cheater in an era of cheating. The anti-thesis of why we watch sports stands to break the most hallowed record in the history of competition, and you will stand and cheer this? The only positive thing that could ever come out of Barry topping Hank and the Babe is to make me root amazingly for AROD or Pujols to absolutely shatter whatever Bonds finishes with.

Bonds has not failed a test and until then he shouldn't be attached to steroids...Ask the fans on this board if Lowell was on steroids and i bet a lot say yes....does that change your view of him?? Admit it, it's the bad guy attitude and the supposed steroids that makes everyone heap the hate on him.
