For the last two days, I've mentioned what I think it will take to make the playoffs...

2 of 3 vs Mets

2 of 3 vs ATL

3 of 3 vs Wash

2 of 3 vs ATL

That will give us 9 more wins, which 'might' do it. Ideally, it'd be nice to sweep two series, but 2 of 3 against ATL is VERY possible if they clinch the division by the end of this Mets series (or close to it).

To sum it up....

f***.

We don't know how to sweep teams that are not based in Tampa Bay.

Once ATL is assured the division, they'll rest some guys and probably won't play as hard as they would if they 'needed' wins like us.

we may get sweeped at flushings NY

I like the fact you are still cheering till the end. We aren't out of it yet (so the math says anyways).

I'm just gonna pretend that Clemens won the game yesterday and that both us and the Stros won today. We would be in the same spot but for some reason I would feel a little better.

Sure we need only 9 more wins to get in.

Does anybody really think this team is likely to go 9-2 the rest of the way?

Like I said, after this series (if ATL wins at least 2 of 3 from Philly) then our next series vs them won't be as important to them. And DEFINITELY the last series of the season against ATL will be meaningless for them.

I really do think we can win 9 or 10 :)

What the hell. Me too.

For some crazy ass reason, I do.

I honestly think Delgado is going to beat the f*** out of this team tonight.

Give me a chance to live for tomorrow, at least.

this game, after Saturday's nightmare....

The balls just aren't bouncing the Marlins way this season. They've never gone on any kind of long winning streak, when have they won a game in their last at-bat?

And now on top of everything else they're forced to deal with all these injuries...

I think they can run off 5 or 6 in a row, I've always thought that. But it hasn't happened. And the Astros don't seem likely to fall apart for us.

In the meantime we needed to win 2 of 3 vs the Mets to remain in the race. They can still do that.

Needed to take 2 of 3. Tough loss, very tough loss crushed me but we can still take 2 of 3. Get it done

You know, it's sad - but the last time I remember a last at-bat win was June 29th against the Braves.

I am usually optimistic but its appears over. Unless they make up 2 games vs the astros these next 3 days then its all over

In the great words of Yogi Berra......

It ain't over till it's over
