But the left-hander received another honor Saturday when he was named Marlins Most Valuable Player by the South Florida chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America. "I'm glad I was able to contribute as best I could," said Willis (22-10, 2.59 ERA). Relief pitcher Todd Jones won the Most Improved Player award. He has 40 saves and a 1.75 ERA after saving two games in 2004 and posting a 4.15 ERA in a season split with Cincinnati and Philadelphia. Left-hander Jason Vargas was named Rookie of the Year. First baseman Carlos Delgado received the Charlie Hough Good Guy Award. Link
