this, from the team that wanted tampa bay to forfeit after the hurricanes last year. plus, a-rod talking about a 'code of honor' is total garbage after last year's ALCS. i don't know if what showalter did was sportsmanlike but the yanks bully everyone around, they're not a position to cry foul about stuff like this.

Mike on Mike & The Mad Dog here in NY has it right. He's a Yankees fan mind you, a diehard one.

He said if the game was so important than don't rely on the Rangers -- they should've used their best pitchers. The fact they didn't gives them nothing to stand on to bash Showalter about it.

Buck probably wasn't right to do it but Mike's right, the Yanks have no leg to stand on complaining about it.

yeah, why would you start Jaret Wright of all people?

If they won yesterday, it's irrelevant...don't save Mussina for the first ALDS game and then bitch about other teams not helping you out.

At least Brian Cashman took the high-road.

Please. This is ESPN trying [and obviously succeeding] to grab headlines. No one on the Yankees really cares or was even aware until sportswriters pointed it out. The biggest "complaints" by the yankees quoted were:

"It's surprising" - Joe Torre. Not exactly crying.

"You hope people do the right thing. But you can't control what people do." - Arod. Again, not exactly crying.

Even the article itself goes on to admit that:

"Yankees general manager Brian Cashman told the New York Times that he didn't mind Showalter's decision... "

This is a nonsense article.

..and yet the Yankees play 24 different players in yesterdays game. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

Again - the Yankees aren't whinning, ESPN is putting words in their mouths.

This is nonsense and not even accurate.
