And Austin isn't obligated to job to Hogan. Methink this will be the ultimate clash of egos and if Hogan thinks he SHOULD win he's a dumbass. Austin is one of those few guys they will cheer over Hogan, potentially BOOING Hogan.
October 6, 200519 yr The only time I've seen Austin booed really loud in favor of cheering his opponent, was in his series of matches with Kurt Angle during the Invasion storyline of 2001. They made Angle a super face during those months, almost unbeatable. I wish he'd go back to that.

Possibly the greatest of all time. His character now, I will agree, is too "My Time" Triple H. Meaning, it's been done before in a hundred thousand different incarnations.
October 8, 200519 yr i heard a austin-hogan match at royal rumble...aparently austin has contract negotiations going on or something

As for being a dork, Kurt Angle was damn good at it(like telling the crowd to chant You Suck during his entrance music lol), but he was also a badass.

Boo Hulk Hogan........Not on This Planet They didn't even Boo him when he fought the Rock in his prime.......not gonna happen
October 12, 200519 yr They booed him all the time in WCW. Before he joined the nWo too. And when they had their rematch and Rock was the heel, the crowd was 50/50.
October 12, 200519 yr I also dont think The Rock ever had Austin's popularity. The rattlesnake appealed to: 1. People who hate their boss 2. People who enjoy beer 3. People who drive big pick up trucks 4. Rednecks Thats about 95% of the nation, the other 5% are happy housewives.
October 12, 200519 yr The Rock is/was much bigger. The Rock cross over to entertainment in general. Not to mention a better wrestler and better on the microphone.
October 14, 200519 yr The Rock was not a better wrestler than Steve Austin. The Rock had some very good matches in his time and Austin had stretches where he was so banged up that he couldn't do much, but with both on the top of their games, Austin was a vastly superior pure wrestler.
November 4, 200519 yr Can someone please give a recap of all the Rock/Austin matches... Austin was always my favorite, the bad ass mentality, DTA, back in his prime man when the glass shattered music hit, and he came down to the ring during a match, and just stunner whoever, and then proceed with his speech, that was awesome. If I remember correctly, I have his first match in the WWF (at that time) on video vs Savio Vega... right?
November 4, 200519 yr Author If I remember correctly, I have his first match in the WWF (at that time) on video vs Savio Vega... right? If you wanto to go back to when he debuted in WWE as The Ringmaster, his first match was against Matt Hardy on RAW 1/15/96. He did fight Vega to a no-contest on the March 11th edition of RAW. He feuded with Vega for a while, so I'm not sure which match exactly you're talking about. Here's where I got the info: http://www.obsessedwithwrestling.com/profi...eve-austin.html
