October 6, 200519 yr It was a a thing of beauty to see the Rangers take down the hired goons from Philly. The booing has started already in Philly, freakin' sweet.

October 6, 200519 yr It's called rebuilding. We got screwed out of Crosby, but this team is getting younger and better pretty much everywhere. In a few years this team will be one of the tops in the NHL.
October 6, 200519 yr what, the NY dollars failed at both buying a team and buying a draft pick crazy to hear a NY fan call anyone a group of mercanaries
October 6, 200519 yr what, the NY dollars failed at both buying a team and buying a draft pick crazy to hear a NY fan call anyone a group of mercanaries Buying a draft pick? Everybody claims that the NHL was trying to hand us Crosby, but the Rangers were easily a lottery team if not favorites for the #1 pick had the season been played, instead they got shafted with the 16th pick. And I have no problem with a team spending money if they have it, but it's nice to see a young promising team take down a favorite. Especially when the Flyers were on the losing end.

In a few years this team will be one of the tops in the NHL. Eh, not this team. I'm actually a Ranger fan (I'll be at the game tonight, I'm so pumped), and Sather's decided to build around a bunch of "B" level prospects. IMO, the only one that is a sure-fire bluechipper is Tyutin, other than that, it's all hit-or-miss. I mean, do you really think Jed Ortmeyer or Jamie Lundmark is going to amount to a whole lot? And yes, the Rangers did get screwed out of Crosby, had the '04 season been played, the Rangers would have been the worst team in the league by a wide margin.

No, but how about Lundqvist, Immonen, Balej with Jessiman, Staal, Montoya, and Dawes on the way. This team has a lot of talent about to debut.

I am pretty sure the Penguins would have been a LOT worse. Not that it matters, cause its a lottery system.
