Ever seen a player in the minors or a brief stint in the Majors that you thought was can't miss and never had a long successful career

Ron Jones - Phillies (OF) : Guy could hit. Is now the reason why Shea stadium has pads on the outfield walls. Jones crashed into the walls twice and it ended his career

Ricky Jordan - Phillies (1B) : Came up before Jones. Could hit, couldn't field. Phillies dumped him off in Seattle and he never returned

Eric Anthony - Astros (OF) : Homered in his first game. Struggled right after.

Jerome Walton / Dwight Smith - Cubs (OF) : Rookies could not live up to their hype. Prized youngsters fizzled out quickly.

Hensely "Bam Bam" Meulens. He could flat out rake here in Columbus, never really broke through in the bigs. I believe he still holds a lot of our franchise records.

Oh yeah, Bam Bam, I had a ton of his rookie card ('89 Donruss) was worth a $1 at the time now it's barely a penny

Billy Beane

Chris Norton, who was probably the best power hitter I've ever seen. He never got a chance to play in MLB. :(

Kevin Maas....had a huge half of a season for the Yankees..then vanished.

ALmost forgot about Matt Nokes - C (Det) : Guy hits a bunch of homers as a rookie with Detroit in late 80's and is quickly done

Billy Beane, Kevin Maas, and, briefly, Josh Hamilton.

I always thought that both Dwight Gooden and Darryl Strawberry would have had much better careers than they did, if it wasn't for their drug problems. Especially The Straw.

brian taylor - remember him for hte yankees? He throw over 100 mph was the next "roger clemens" lol didnt work out so.
