ultimopain
Who did we trade to the White Sox for him? I've completely forgotten. EDIT: Ha nevermind, I remembered it was Jeremy Reed who went to Seattle.
farmer_fran
Reed has no bat. He's a great defensive player with great speed, but he's gonna have to start hitting before he makes it to the big leagues.
Beastie
310 avg in AAA shows that he just might be ready
farmer_fran
310 avg in AAA shows that he just might be ready You have to take that park into effect, because he was horrible in AA in way more at-bats. And despite the fact he hit .310, his OBP was only .335, and that's just not going to cut it for a guy who's supposed to be a top-of-the-order guy. Maybe he struggled early in AA and then started hitting so they promoted him and continued to rip in AAA. I do not know. But he's a guy who the organization is pretty high on and plays very good defense and has very good speed. Why not give him a chance. Let him and Hanley run around the bases. Should be fun to see
fanofthefish
Reed has yet to fail to hit at least .300 every year so far in the minors. In his last fully healthy year in 03 he stole 53 bases. So what I'm hearing is he hits .300, can steal bases, plays good defense and has a poor arm, sounds a lot like someone else I might have seen play.
