Under what circumstances do you prefer Crisp to Gathright, ESPECIALLY when the Indians want a mid-rotation MLB starter. The only instance I can think of is if you're hungry around breakfast-time.

The Red Sox are having ongoing discussions with the Cleveland Indians about a trade for outfielder Coco Crisp, with the pricetag expected to be either starter Bronson Arroyo or Matt Clement. The Indians are believed to have a preference for Arroyo

Take Crisp...

you'll probably pay way more and get way less production.

Coco Crisp .300/.345/.465 16 home runs

Yeah...way less production. Delusional much?

Anyway, as said, he's about to get rich, so it ain't happening.

funny enough, Crisp is 26 and this forum's biggest complaint about Gathright is that he's 25.

Crisp 1st season - .266/.302/.353

Gathright 1st season - ..276/.316/.340

not really fair to compare a 4th year pro to a 2nd year pro as far as last year goes.. Crisp has had more time to get acclimated to ML Pitching.

oh yeah... and the AL East has alot better pitching than the AL Central...

ok

..but the AL East doesn't have "alot better pitching than the AL Central."

That's just a stupid comment.

You're on a roll.. Gathright being the next Rickey Henderson, Gathright being better than Coco and the AL East having better pitching than the Central.. Keep it up.

That excuse is lame. The White Sox won the World Series on pitching, the Indians surged to almost making the playoffs when their pitching started doing very well, the Tigers have some nice young pitchers, the Twins have Johan Santana and a nice supporting cast, and even the Royals have Zach Grienke.

The AL East, on the other hand, has the Yankees which had pitching problems the entire season, the Red Sox which had no ace and couldn't find reliable starters most of the time, the Devil Rays with Scott Kazmir and garbage, The Blue Jays who were actually solid to a point, and let's not even bother starting on the Orioles.

yeah, the AL Central got to play the AL Central...

it's easy to get good stats pitching against Kansas City, Detroit, and Minnesota

look at all the hitters in the AL East.

by the way, love your wit and attitude.

keep it up

:thumbup

And the AL East got to play....

you.

okay, here's my best one yet...

The Marlins will lose 100 games this year !

and this year, the Braves get their 100th division title because of YOU.

if you look at this way...

from 1998-2005 there were 7 years... if that trend continues, by the time the Marlins have another fire sale.. you won't care because they'll be long gone in the lone star state by then.

If you really think Joey Gathright is going to produce like that, I applaud your homerism.

the fact that crisp is a 4th year pro and only 1 year older than gathright
