MrAndMrsFish
MIAMI -- Luis Dorante, the Marlins' bullpen coach in 2005, is returning to the managerial ranks. The organization has named Dorante the manager of their Double-A Carolina affiliate. Before joining Jack McKeon's staff last year, the Venezuelan native managed Class A Jupiter from 2002-04. The announcement came on Thursday as the Marlins released their Minor League managers, coaching staff and coordinators. Dorante's staff in Carolina will include Scott Mitchell (pitching), Paul Sanagorski (hitting) and Steven Moreno (trainer). Returning as the Triple-A Albuquerque manager is Dean Treanor, who is in his second stint as the Isotopes' skipper. Treanor managed the club from 2002-03. He returned to Albuquerque in 2005. Tom Brown is the Isotopes' pitching coach, while Steven Phillips (hitting) and Steven Miller (trainer) round out the staff. Tim Cossins is back as the Class A Jupiter manager for the second straight season. Reid Cornelius (pitching), Darin Everson (hitting) and Josh Seligman (trainer) join Cossins in Jupiter. Low Class A Greensboro will again be managed by Brandon Hyde, who has Stephen Foster to handle the pitching, while Josue Espada (hitting) and Ben Heimos (trainer) complete his staff. Bo Porter makes his managerial debut at short-season Class A Jamestown in the New York-Penn League. John Duffy (pitching), Anthony Iapoce (hitting) and James Stone (trainer) will work with Porter, who replaces Mike Mordecai, who has decided to take a shot at coaching at the high school level. The Marlins' Gulf Coast League affiliate in Jupiter will be managed by Edwin Rodriguez. His pitching coach will be Gary Buckels, while his hitting coach is Johnny Rodriguez. The trainer is Rich Ramirez. The Minor League coordinators are: John Pierson (field), Wayne Rosenthal (pitching), John Mallee (hitting), Ed Romero (infield), Porter (outfield), Gene Basham (rehab and training) and Mike West (strength and conditioning).
