Posted April 19, 200619 yr versus --- One of the many lessons that first-year Florida manager Joe Girardi is trying to impress upon his youthful Marlins is how to approach hitting with runners in scoring position. The Marlins showed signs on Tuesday night that they might actually be listening. In its victory on Tuesday night over the Reds, Florida went 6-for-17 with runners in scoring position. The win gives Florida a chance to win its first series of the season today when the two teams meet in the rubber match of their three-game series at Great American Ball Park. "We talk to the guys about how they're going to have to improve in that [situation]," Girardi said. "We tell them that they have to remember that the pressure is on [the other team], not on you. It's important to get your pitch and do something with it." The Marlins lost each of their first four series of the season, but they'll have their ace, Dontrelle Willis, starting in the finale. Pitching matchup FLA: LHP Dontrelle Willis (1-0, 1.93 ERA) The Reds have found Willis virtually unsolvable. He is 4-0 with a 0.97 ERA in five career starts, including 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA at Great American Ball Park. CIN: RHP Aaron Harang (2-1, 5.30 ERA) Harang's start will be his first at Great American Ball Park since he allowed nine hits and six earned runs in five innings on Opening Day. Player to watch Josh Willingham leads Florida with 12 RBIs and is tied for the team lead with three home runs. His .667 slugging percentage is also tops on the Marlins. Few Reds have experienced a great deal of success against Willis. Ryan Freel has done the best job, batting .308 (4-for-13) with two doubles in previous meetings. On the Internet MLB.TV Gameday Audio ? Gameday ? Official game notes On television ? Fox Sports Net Florida On radio ? MLB.com gameday is really slow and I'd love to at least hear some of the action. Thanks for any information! You can get MLB.tv or the Audio from mlb.com http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/subscriptions/mlbtv.jsp http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/subscrip...meday_audio.jsp I think the Audio is only like $15 for the year while MLB.tv is $80.
