For the comic fans (or zombie movie fans) here.... does anyone read The Walking Dead?

It's a zombie comic, which isn't typically my thing....but it's not your typical gore-fest zombie mag. It's done in black & white, & is not about the zombies as much as the survivors and trying to get by in their new environment & working together. Really very good stuff. I recommend it highly. Well written by Robert Kirkman and the art even in black & white is solid.

They keep releasing trade paperbacks that cover issues 1-6, 7-12, etc, so it's easy to get caught up.

good review of it here

I have the first book. I like some of what I saw. It's an allright story if, given the chance, could be great. The main father character and his relationship with his son elevated the title, in my opinion.

I really haven't made a decision on whether or not I'll follow it yet. I might get the second trade to peruse it and help make my decision.

Another good one, if you're into this type of thing, is Y: the Last Man, where a virus wiped out all of mankind but a young man and his monkey. So, the only two males left are Yorrick Brown and his monkey and the females form into all these crazy cults and terrorists groups and attempt to kidnap him, etc. I don't find it's as good as the acclaim it reciever, but whatever.

The best Vertigo series, in my mind, is still 100 Bullets. You're given a briefcase of 100 untraceable bullets by the mysterious Mr. Smith, who seems to know your entire life's story. The bullets are to be used in retaliation against someone who has seriously wronged you. Could you pull the trigger? Each story arc usually involves a different cast of character's thrown into this situation.
