jonnylons
When we traded Hampton to the Braves for Spooneybarger, who has been utterly disappointing for us this season, we were blasted. All we got from CJ and P Dub was Pierre and Hampton who was then shipped to Atlanta. But not only is Pierre a stellar defensive CFer (see last night's robbed homerun), a catalyst and on his way to breaking records for this ball club, but see what has happened to Hampton when he has played against us. We are 4-0 and we have outscored teh Braves 36-12 in those games. Is that worth what we are paying him? Four wins, no. But, when you add up the money we are saving by cutting CJ and P loose, and Pierre's super value contract, it becomes clear this was a good deal for the Marlins. Good to see the media continue to backpeddle and eat crow...
AJBurnett34
I think he should of stayed but either way it was a very good deal because i dont think we would be here with our Pierre. Mike Hampton is having a great year but remeber what team he is on. One of the best offenses in the Majors. We unloaded big contracts from CJ and Preston and they werent producing but apperantly they are all producing except CJ. Preston is leading in RBI's in the NL and has a bunch of homeruns. They are all doing great but i am happy with the team we have now.
