g8trz2003
if i had been a member when we came up with songs, I would have put in Freebird, Stairway to Heaven (or was that in there?), Carry On My Wayward Son, and others. Classic rock is where it's at. Narrow it down, and Southern Rock is where it's REALLY at!

g8trz2003
texas country is fun....Strait, Brooks and Dunn, etc......but maybe it's my Tennessee roots, but I do love me some Nashville country....but this new Pop Country crap has gotta go....Keith Urban? WTF! You aint even from our country! I get sick of listening to Canadians trying to sound like they're from the south, so they can sell country cds (Emerson Drive, Shania Twain), along with people that arent from the South (minus Gary Allan, cause I like him for some reason). g8trz2003
but I love me some bluegrass....a friend just burned me a copy of his Ricky Scaggs cd....I also have a Flatt and Scruggs greatest hits, not to mention bundles of compilations...good for listening to when I'm just "chillin". Guest marlins02
i think she's talking about that whole alter-ego thing Garth does, that shits disturbing. its like he's Roseanne with the multiple personanlities. Michael Jackson... well i dont even have to explain it
Das Texan
you mean the chris gaines thing? that is largely misunderstood.
g8trz2003
for sure, das. I believe he did the Chris Gaines thing as part of a movie he was going to be in. He thought it would be cool if he made a soundtrack for the movie, as Chris Gaines, who was a musician in the movie. Unfortunately, the movie never came out, so it just looks like he is some sort of psycho with an alter-ego.
Das Texan
the life of chris gaines was going to be a made for tv movie for nbc. garth wanted to bring out the soundtrack first in order to allow people to get a 'taste' of whom chris gaines was. but then nbc pulled the plug and it really got complicated.
