Junior
Multipe radio hosts in Cincinnati reported that A-Rod met with "high up" Reds' officials today. Things that make you go hmmmmm
Mauer7
whoa. I don't know what else that it could be about besides a trade possibility. Interesting.
TSwift25
I'll eat my hat if: 1) The Reds trade Homer Bailey and 2) ARod waives his no trade to go to Cincy.
Junior
I'd say 2 is more likely then 1.

I think Homer Bailey far outweighs any potential offense ARod might bring. While in the case of our Marlins where we can afford to trade young pitching, there is such a dearth of it in Cinci that it would not be wise. And why would ARod wave his no-trade clause to go to Cincy? Someone give me a concrete reason.

It would be Dunn and something else.

Ramp
Wouldnt teams have to get Major League approval to talk to players still under contract? and maybe I missed it, but why no post on RedsZone about it?

TSwift25
Listen, you aren't getting ARod unless it's a trade centered around pitching. An outfielder isn't getting it done. They've already got 4 (Abreu, Damon, Cabrera, Matsui) and a 5th (Sheff) they can bring back. It's Bailey or not even on the table.

And I never said it would just be Dunn, just that I thought he would be included. I think the Yankees want pitching for right now, and Bailey may not be ready. Tell you what, if ARod ends up in Cincy, without Bailey ending up in New York, I'll buy you his authentic jersey.

rferry
Then Cincy could market itself as having two overpriced superstars past their prime and positive defensive value. X - And I support A-Rod and nearly everything about him
