Posted October 29, 200618 yr Just a moment of peace as we approach the mid-term elections. Regardless of what party or political theory you align yourself with, everyone pick an individual or organization generally thought of as being on the "other side" that you either agree with or at least respect. If you're a centrist just pick someone on either end. Can be a politician, media figure, organization, writer, whatever. Doesn't have to be an extremist, just pick someone that people wouldn't normally think you'd agree with or like (or at least respect). Just my little experiment.
October 30, 200618 yr I like John McCain, mostly because he's more moderate than many of the other senior Republican lawmakers (Hastert, Stevens, Frist, Bainer, etc.) It's becoming harder and harder to find common ground with the other side these days. And this time, it's not the Democrats' fault.
October 31, 200618 yr Charlie Crist. Am I missing something here? I thought about commenting on that earlier. It didn't make any sense to me. You need to explain Accord, if that's not a problem.
October 31, 200618 yr Joe Lieberman. May be the easy way out, but he seriously may be the last moderate democrat (Yes, I know he is now running as an independent) in all of the senate.
October 31, 200618 yr Um, ok? Where did I bring that up? The countdown to the toilet has begun for this thread, good job.
October 31, 200618 yr I'm sorry, but as a whole, the Republican party's Congressional members are far more extreme than their Democratic counterparts.

October 31, 200618 yr Um, ok? Where did I bring that up? The countdown to the toilet has begun for this thread, good job. Bringing up that Lieberman is the only moderate democrat in the senate obviously implies that you think there are numerous moderate republicans in the senate. Sorry for misconstruing your very clear words. I can't personally think of any moderates on either side, for what it's worth. Thats the political climate today. And I actually like Jeb Bush, to try and bring out the plunger.

Sorry for misconstruing your very clear words. Um, how? It either implies that or it implies a very obviously biased world view where puppies aren't cute and Fox News Channel fairly reports the news and CNN calls for the downfall of western civilization to make way for the revolution, led by Hilary Clinton and Vladimir Lenin (which is only half true).
