Our Florida sources have tipped us off to a looming development that, in our view, makes Dolphins coach Nick Saban's disinterested interest in the Alabama job understandable.

The Fins, as we hear it, are in the process of being sold.

Per a source with knowledge of the transaction, advertising executive Jordan Zimmerman, a co-owner of the NHL's Florida Panthers, will become majority owner of the Dolphins.

Also involved in the new ownership will be Papa John's founder John Schnatter.

Since it was Huizenga who hired Saban, Saban might be interested in keeping his options open. And that's why, we believe, Saban declined an opportunity (when pressed by Peter King of SI) to state unequivocally that he will not under any circumstances pursue the Alabama job. Saban, in our opinion, will be looking for either an extension from the new ownership, or a ticket out of town.

now this would be a shock if Huizenga pulls out of the team...i think it is a bad rumor...but oh well!!!

Huizenga has been throwing his money into improving Dolphins Stadium like a madman. I have a hard time believing he's looking to sell the team that plays there.

So he spends 250 million to fix the stadium then sells the team? Makes like no sense at all. I cant see it at all.

If it happend it would suck hugely he is a good owner for the fins.

It makes a lot more sense than you guys think. He puts in $250 million into the stadium and sells it for much more. The Dolphins if sold would fetch atleast a $1 Billion, much more than Huizinga's original investment. I think it is a bad rumor aswell but it isnt as asinine as you all think.

If Huizenga's going to sell, now is the best time to do so.

Something else to think about is that maybe he is aware of some new NFL procedure that will see Pro Player's Super Bowl games reduced greatly in the near future...since, let's not kid ourselves, that's the biggest player in the Dolphins financial viability.

He has been wanting to sell the team for awhile now.

What he's been trying to do is sell the team while retaining ownership of the stadium, so he can keep making money off the Dolphins like he does with the Marlins.

I hope to god he's not successful at pulling that scheme off.
