Are you just counting the years they played in that city? Cause the best basketball player to play for Miami is obviously Shaq, though Wade may catch him someday.

i put Zo because we got shaq at the end of his career but i know what you saying, i thought about it to.

Yeah, it just depends on how this is defined...because it's PROBABLY Zo if you just count time served in that city. I MAYBE give it to Wade since he was the man responsible for our only championship.

It's based on having played there at least one season.....but let's try and be realistic here....

if Wade dont got it now, he will take the top spot eventually.

ill say aeneas williams for the cardinals

The cardinals franchise can not be that bad that jake plummber is their best ever... can it?

well the Chicago and St. Louis parts of the franchise have some history, but the Phoenix/Arizona part really doesn't. Plummer lead them to their only playoff berth, so i dont know. marlins02's pick is good. maybe Williams. i don't know.

New York:

Football: LT

Basketball: Clyde Frazier

Hockey: Mark Messier

Baseball: Mickey Mantle

My Favorite Players: all time/current

Giants: Jesse Armstead/Michael Strahan

Knicks: John Starks/David Lee

Rangers: Adam Graves/Henrik Lundqvist

Mets: Howard Johnson/Jose Reyes

On Edit:

Can't believe all the people picking Gretzky for NY. Any of the big 3 from the early 90's would have to be ranked before him: Richter, Leetch, Messier (unquestionably the most recognizable person from that franchise).

Too many too chose just one:

Baseball: Barry Bonds (Willie Mays would be #1 in any other city)

Football: Jerry Rice (Steve Young, Joe Montana, Ronnie Lott would all be #1 in almost any other city)

Basketball: Bill Russell (played college ball at USF)

Hockey: Joe Thornton (only been here for about a year, but has already accomplished about as much as anyone in franchise history)

Teams:

Giants: Barry Bonds

Niners: Jerry Rice

Warriors: Wilt Chamberlain (in the bay area, Rick Barry)

Sharks: Joe Thornton

A's: Rickey Henderson

Raiders (not that i give a sh*t about them): Marcus Allen (in the bay area, Fred Biletnikoff)

Favorites:

Giants: Will Clark

Niners: Jerry Rice

Warriors: Chris Mullin

Sharks: Jonathan Cheechoo

Miami:

Football: Dan Marino (HOF)

Basketball: Dwayne Wade (little time so far, big impact)

Hockey: Scott Mellanby (Pavel Bure was just injured too much for my taste, Scott has the most goals by a Panther)

Baseball: Miguel Cabrera (little time so far, mega impact)

I kinda went on the whole career, not necessarily when he played there

like I said before, I by no emans profess to know much about hockey, but if youw ere to go on the best to play there in the prime of his career, i guess it'd ahve to be Messier

Pittsburgh

Baseball: Roberto Clemente

Football: Franco Harris

Hockey: Mario Lemieux (but Crosby will be there shortly)
