I am so excited...my entire week next week will be at this arena. Some fun facts:

will host mens and womens b-ball and hockey

183,350 square feet total

ALL SEATS HAVE CUP HOLDERS (from what I heard)

has a private club

basketball seating 3,570

hockey seating 3,286

10 loccer rooms

weight room and athletic training room

each arena (they are basically two arenas attached to each other) has a center ice/center court scoreboard (jumbotron type) as well as 2 auxulary scoreboards

took 2 years to build

cost $53 million (my tuition has to go somewhere I guess)

so pretty much...for a college arena, not too bad!

I encourage those of you in the northeast or with access to the following networks watch at the times given. You'll probably see me holding up crappily written signs!

NESN TV-Men's Basketball 1/27/07 12:30pm-3:00pm OPENING GAME vs St. Francis NY

ESPNU-Men's Ice Hockey 1/28/07 12:00pm-2:30pm OPENING GAME vs Holy Cross

COX-TV- Men's Basketball 1/29/07 7:00pm-9:30pm vs our arch rival Central Connecticut State University

NESN-TV Men's Basketball 2/3/07 12:30pm-3:00pm vs Mount St. Mary's

WJAL-68, MSAN- Women's Basketball 2/3/07 3:30pm-6:00pm vs Mount St. Mary's

also, on a personal note...anyone who gets MSG TV I will be making the trip on 2/10/07 to CCSU which is at 4:00pm on MSG

Anyone wishing to listen to any Quinnipiac game go here!

enjoy and let me know how you like the new arena if you are able to watch!

Just curious, what exactly brought you from Cooper City(my alma mater, btw) to Quinnipiac University in CT? Is the broadcasting program really that good?

short answer...yes

and I wanted to get out of Florida to the NE, so this is a perfect fit

i hope bentley destroys quinnipiac

haven't even looked to next week...but who's ranked #20?

yes, i know its a little confusing.

the origional name was the Hudson United Bank Center (aka the HUB)...well TDBankNorth baught out Hudson United Bank Center and since they had the Garden, it is called the TDBankNorth Sports Center. yea...

anyway, we won our first game in the building, a men's bball game (6th win a row...fantasy points!) and the women were points away. Every seat is a good seat and it feels so...wow! AMAZING arena!

Well, I'm off to the hockey game where QU faces Mercyhurst (#1 in the nation) in womens ice hockey. I'll have my laptop, so I'll be sure to blog and at the same time, glance at the Panthers!

Wow, sounds pretty sweet. If there are any pics I'd love to see. All I know is that the pictures of the campus there look amazing. They've sent me a lot of mail recently offering scholarships for law school but I haven't applied.

Cape: FSU baseball season begins in just 4 and a half days now, I'm sure you know. Talk about a great place to watch college sports. Howser is the best.

Can't say anything this season because you're ranked ahead of my alma mater, but we usually are on top of you.

Cornell U.

usually...its been 1 year! And btw...we killed Holy Cross 7-0...2 shorthanded goals in 31 seconds :notworthy !

a few pictures: (WARNING...MAY TAKE A MINUTE TO LOAD ON 56K)

the old arena Burt Kahn Court on the last game...(didn't realize the effect of the players running, avtually pretty cool)

the new arena...sorry, it's a little blurred as I was shaking because i was so EXCITED!

what you see when you walk up to the arena

the sign...school president at the mic

jumbotron

the pond after the women's hockey game (couldn't get a good shot from the press box of the entier rink, but I will on Tuesday)

I've got more pictures, send me a message if you want to see!

Hell yes it is. I sometimes just walk out onto the pitcher's mound late at night when I'm around the stadium. It's pretty cool. I'm finally gonna get out to a game this season.

I walked into the dugout last weekend and Mike Martin's lineup card was up for the Spring Game.... I had to try really hard not to steal it.
