Reggie had himself a ballgame

1/4 bb r hr 2rbi 2sb(2nd and 3rd)... and he played a fine CF today including a web gem

BK Kim had a nice outing too. Got help from his defense, including a fantastic play of his own on Aramis Ramirez

Amezaga needs to make the play in CF in the 9th inning. That is certainly one that Reggie makes.

Willingham finally got a few knocks off a lefty, and got himself an RBI

Tank had a rough afternoon. Appears to still be working out the kinks

Lindstrom and Pinto had a fine game

Jason Wood looked good out there too. Played a good 1b as well

Kevin Gregg came in, struck out 2, got betrayed by Amezaga in CF. He did his job though when it mattered most.

What is the combined average and obp of the amez and Reggie platoon?

Can't we just win like an 11-0 game for once. If we had lost that game, it would have been very hard for me to watch the rest of the series. What a heartbreaker that would have been...

We really need a real centerfielder. No sense in diving for that ball, Amezaga.

It shows what kind of player Miggy is that we don't even notice that he went 3-4.

Kim is def co-player of the game.

On the road against a good offense and a web gem.

Reggie with a bona fide 5 tool day.

On another note, the Amezega hate on this board has officially reached new heights.

Ive never seen a guy just get absolutely slaughtered for making a bad play like he gets it on this board.

Oh well.

tank may need to get the anibal sanchez treatment soon.

BK did a great job, glad that he got past the 6th inning this time around.

Reggie had a great game all around, really liked that he stole those 2 bases and got himself to 3rd for the SAC FLY.

Kevin Gregg came in, struck out 2, got betrayed by Amezaga in CF. He did his job though when it mattered most.

Like I said in the GDT, he threw a pitch down the heart of the plate on an 0-2 pitch. Thats not doing his job.

everyone throws a mistake pitch

it happens

Gregg was more than fine out there today

Bench, did you see what Gregg did. Came in with runners on 3rd and 1st w/ no outs. Struck out the next 2 batters (including soriano) then cliff got his bat broken and amezega should ve caught the ball and the game would have been over. the only guy that really got a hit on him was lee. Then he struck out ramirez. what more do u want? BTW when owens comes back Gregg will still be the closer cause he has been our best reliever and closer. No doubt about it!

I'm rooting for Tank to succeed but I think he needs some seasoning in AAA for a bit to get himself back on track to 2006 form.

someone want to tell me what the hell is wrong with tankersley

I really hope Reggie can keep this up.

Reggie>life.

someone want to tell me what the hell is wrong with tankersley

Can't tell if this is sarcasm or serious...

But he walked in a run last Wednesday against the Phillies...

Today he comes in with a 5 run lead and throws 6 straight balls and then cannot get an out

He has not been consistent since coming off the DL

yeah, I mean he only came into the game with runners on the corners and no outs and struck out the side. what a freakin bum

On Amezaga i dont think the "hate" is directed at him personally i think he is a fine bench player however he is not a everyday mlb player and the frustration towards the front office's inability to address a fairly obvious need manifests itself at the player (amezega) who is only playing because the need was not addressed

ON Kevin Gregg the guy hands down is the most consistent relief pitcher on the team , during spring training stated he would like to close , didnt get to close in the beginning , instead of b?tching , pitched well and earned the right to close and has done a good job since. I dont see how anyone baring an established quality closer will take the job away from him

While Gregg pitched well in the end and the game should have been over before Lee even got a chance, we're lucky Lee didn't homer on that pitch and tie the game.

well it should have never gotten to lee if alfredo makes the play, so there goes that argument. Gregg pitched great the whole inning he was in. the only one that really got a hit was Lee. He struck out 3 including soriano and ramirez and cliff should have been out.

I said that. Still, as a pitcher, you've got to be ready for anything. Overall, Gregg was. But during that Lee AB, I wouldn't doubt that the Amezaga play was weighing heavily on his mind. And like I said, we're lucky Lee didn't smack that pitch out. Especially at Wrigley.

i realized that and now i am pointing it out

Great game by Reggie and the boys this afternoon. Hopefully Reggie can keep up the good hitting. Tay needs a little smack :bottom .

That little twirl that Lindy did was pretty nice... Gotta make a strike look as pretty as possible.

BK had a nice outing, offense was ok, Reggie had a great day (he still sucks).

Unfortunately, Tank hasn't been himself lately and today was no different. I

really hope he gets it back together soon cuz he almost blew it today.

I give Kim the player of the game today, that's already far more than we got out of Julio.

:thumbup

Kim definitely gets my player of the game. Not only did he hold down the top of a very good lineup, he made DLee look silly at times, and this is a man who entered tied for the league lead in average.

On a side note, I really hope that 9th inning walk is a restarter for Hanley, sometimes all it takes to get out of a funk is getting to first base.
