Last night, after the Marlins won game 1, someone yelled to the rest of the team - then on the field - to 'untuck their jerseys'. And immediately after that, the whole team proceeded to untuck. I found myself to be strangely proud of the team, not just for the win, but because of the synchronization of a ritual. Is this some kind of good luck charm? Or is there a practical reason behind it...if anyone knows, let me know.

I think it is a good luck charm, but I am not sure

it might have something to do with Urbina. you know how he always untucks his jersey after he's done? its probably a team thing

It was funny though. I felt myself being proud of our team - because of the comraderie this team has. They are so much fun to watch and root for. Wow...

This team is the closest thing we'll ever see to a little league team in the majors, it's awesome. I happened to hear LeBatard on ESPNRadio this morning and he kept talking about how this team just doesn't care what they're "supposed" to do. Most teams come to the stadium focused and concentrated, our Fish were gawking over the fact they had a police escort and Dontrelle was yelling "Get out the way, here come the Fightin' Fish" out the window repeatedly.

This team rules.

Gotta love our guys...and I think it's funny as hell how everyone gives me crap out here because I think Dontrelle is funny. The D'Backs fans really hate him and call him cocky and arrogant...they're just pissed because they know D-train will kick Brandon Webb's a** in the ROTY running.

I know Brandon and he's a really good guy...downhome, country man. I just got so sick of the hype that the media in Arizona kept giving him.

its nothing big its just because usually when ugie was the setup man he would come back in and untuck his shirt but since hes closing now they told him to untuck his shirt like he always did ..basically thats wut it is.

Does anyone know who shouted it out? I think it might have been A.J. Burnett.

I am 100% certain it was Mike Redmond.

it dosent mean anything-it just feels much more comfterble to celebrate with ur shirt untucked.

I'm pretty sure it's gotta be a supersticous thing for the team.

I recall the umps making UU tuck in during a game late in the year.

Untuck => game over => mission accomplished.

I remember that as well...

usually just a couple of players untuck thier shirts and the rest wait until they go back into the clubhouse.
