Posted October 3, 200717 yr Before the miraculous comeback by the Rockies, Julio nearly ended the Rockies' season when he gave up two in the top of the 12th. Just thought I'd mentioned how happy we are not to have him.
October 3, 200717 yr I've said it before but as ugly as the way it all came about, us winding up with Kim was a godsend. Where would we have been without that rubber arm every five days? I think we all know. Frankly, at the right price, as a fifth starter or swing guy in the pen, I'd take him back for another year in a heartbeat.
October 3, 200717 yr It's so unfair that he gets to go to the playoffs. NO HE DOESN'T!!! The Rox didn't put him on their NLDS roster! I feel much better about the whole thing.

Too many guys still on the DL and too many other questions. A little stability with a veteran that just keeps going and going is a good thing.

Nothing to scream from the mountain tops about, but not bad. Why is it no surprise that this was even brought up when the biggest blunder in pitching in that game came from Mr All-Time Saves leader himself?
October 3, 200717 yr I know it was TH that blew it for San Diego, and that was a shocker. he's never saved a big game in his life
October 4, 200717 yr :lol I remember threats of fighting Julio in the GameThread against the Astros back in April. Fiasco518, you made my day when you posted that
October 4, 200717 yr I know it was TH that blew it for San Diego, and that was a shocker. he's never saved a big game in his life As I've said to my cu?ado, Hoffman recorded all those saves pitching in 9th innings out west when half the country is asleep and no one is watching or cares. Put him out in front in a big game, and it's not going to happen. He's just another reason the NL hasn't won an All Star game in so long. He has nice numbers, and is a good pitcher, but he doesn't live up to the myth of top-shelf closer who thrives on pressure situations IMO.

But I dont think he is anywhere near top echolon closers in the league today.
