Most of these are borderline and heretical... as well as shot down within the first several responses..

BUT!

Harden's injured again, and his value plummets... if the price were right (this being the most important part of this argument)... Would you be for getting Harden, albeit everyone is gonna respond "Oh well, he's always injured and we have enough pitchers like that" but I think that this could be a gamble worth taking... again, if the price is right

My response...

I think it's more of what's the point?

We're not going to get him for free, and besides the obvious issues of his injuries, remember that our rotation will get crowded down the line, as Mitre & Sanchez will be back down the line this season, there's no telling when Volstad will be ready to come up as well, and next year JJ will be back in the mix as well.

Considering everything we actually have, I don't think he'd be worth whatever he would cost us.

He is a glass body, but obviously dominant when healthy.

Although, like you said, his value goes down from the injuries, I still think it wouldn't be all that easy to obtain him. Billy Beane would be asking for a number of prospects--probably guys like Volstad, Tucker, Thompson, and Chris Coghlan.

I personally wouldn't take a chance on him.

If it ended up being like... Gregg, and like Jai Miller, then what?

Then obviously pull the trigger, but I really doubt Billy Beane would just give away a pitcher like Harden that he has put a lot of stock into. Acquiring only Gregg and Jai Miller would throw off his whole moneyball plan.
