The official diagnosis is a hyperextended right knee for Dontrelle Willis.

Willis was injured while slipping on the mound in the first inning of Friday's game. Aquilino Lopez replaced him against the White Sox.

It was horrifying watching him pitch on Baseball Tonight. His first pitch was a mile outside and he was not anywhere near the plate. His delivery is awful. It's mechanical and has absolutely no flow to it what so ever. He?s trying to guide the ball in. Also, he's put on a fair amount of weight.

I think he could use a stint on the DL because he looked nowhere near ready to pitch. He's less than a shadow of his former self.

The problem with Dontrelle has always been that his unorthodox delivery has always been a major contributor to his success. That is always dangerous territory for a pitcher.

Best of luck to him, though.
