I happen to agree that McPherson certainly isn't a defensive whiz at third but to so dismissively refer to both players as "terrible" undermines your argument. What else do you call a career .955 FP, 2.36 RF and .832 ZR (McPherson) and a career .936 FP, 2.53 RF and .725 ZR (Helms)? And they're not getting any younger. I would say one is servicable and the other below major league average defensively but terrible, no. McPherson was back in the lineup this afternoon for the 'topes.
