talking about kobe bean bryant right now

Yea, they will get to the Marlins later in the show

In the intro to the show when they present the topics they will cover one of the topics was "The Marlins are the hottest team in baseball right now, they've won 6 in a row. But the only player you can name on that team is Hanley Ramirez. Imagine if they started to take baseball seriously."

It may be one of the Parting shots. Each of the Panel members talks about something going on in sports at the moment. If not then I guess that comment in the beginning of the show will stand on it's own. It seemed like they were going to talk more about them.

So I guess that quote I posted above was all they were going to say. Ohh well. Sorry for the false alarm guys,

(Hi, it's Mrs. Bob)

Yeah, guess they've never heard of Luis Gonzales. Or our All Star 2nd baseman, Dan Uggla.

 Schmucks.

Yeah I saw that too. I was watching with my roommate and he was laughing when they said that. That show really isn't that good anyway. I said the same thing, i guess Luis Gonzalez or Dan Uggla aren't well-known. What about Scott Olsen? So, in other words what ESPN is saying is incorrect... WHAT DO YOU KNOW? ESPN BEING WRONG!? ESPN has great game coverage but besides that they blow.

I get a kick out of listening to all the BS they say about the Marlins, acting like they know it all and really are completely wrong.

ESPN is really hanging on the thin line between mediocracy and it just being plain pathetic, LMAO, Don Uggla? The Marlins struggling offense? and now they say that the organization doesn't take the game seriously, hell if they are slumping offensibly and they don't take it seriously i would love to see what they would do if they weren't slumping and they would take it seriously. ESPN sucks, watch Versus, LOL.

and they will no doubt maintain that the likes of phil hughes and ian kennedy are 100 times superior than andrew miller

despite the fact that miller has battled early season struggles to come out strongly and pitch 3 of 4 games excellently

whereas the 2 yankees "phenoms" sucked so bad they got sent down

oh yeh and how could i forget, it is effectively a national travesty to these guys if someone scores against joba - it just isnt allowed they think

well it true. ask most ppl who watch baseball on normal basis and they probably can't say more than 2 players on marlins. u really think uggla household name? no. olsen? no. he was just average pitcher until this yr.

i have no problem in naming several royals/athletics/orioles players so why should they have a problem naming ours?

yea, we'll there's a difference between "most ppl who watch baseball on normal basis" and someone who gets paid to watch/write about baseball for a living who works for a network that (1) airs live baseball, and (2) has a nightly show called...wait for it...."baseball tonight." There are only 30 teams. There are only 30 people who start at 2B. And, there are only a few of those who have been named to all-star teams. You'd think by now they would have heard of Uggla.

All you have to do is look at ESPN's power rankings to know how ridiculous its coverage is of the Marlins. Even though, percentage-wise, we have the THIRD best record in all of baseball, we are the 11th best on ESPN's "power poll." Nuff said. I guess we're going to have to win the whole freakin thing again to get any respect.

Then, they'll just preach about how "weak" the NL East has been.

And who's fault is this ? When was the last time ESPN feautured the Marlins on a Sunday night game ? If they are afraid of the "empty seats" at Dolphin Stadium, then show a game with the Marlins on the road.

If the Marlins are in 1st place as late as next weekend, June 1st would be a GREAT Sunday night game for ESPN. Marlins vs Philiies, in Philly.

Do you think they would consider this ? Nah, its much more important to show the Tigers, Red Sox or the Yankees that weekend, despite the fact we could still be in 1st and the Phillies in 2nd. They complain no one knows "nationally" about the Marlins, but yet they continue to place us in national obscurity. Who's game was the last one mentioned on Baseball Tonight last evening ? The mention of Hanley's contract was just "oh by the way". Had this been a signing by the Mets, Yankee's or Red Sox, there would have been a 60 minute special showing Karl Ravech foaming at the mouth over what a smart signing it was

No, they'll accuse us of "buying" the World Series again, especially if we were to make a mid season pickup. :lol
