October 31, 200322 yr While surfing the net and look at old articles it came to my memory that Micky Arison has always wanted to be a partner in another sports franchise in SoFla. He tried the Panthers and Dolphins but wasn't able to get in and since the MArlins were untouchable for him, he never tried. But now with Loria and his minority ownership, it is possible that good old Micky could try to buy a share in the team and help build the ballpark in Downtown. DOWNTOWN MIAMI Strengths: Can use existing parking; Heat owner Micky Arison could consider becoming a Marlins ownership partner if the stadium is next to the Heat's arena on Miami's waterfront. Weakness: Too far from fans in Broward and Palm Beach counties. From http://www.ballparks.com/baseball/national/miabpk.htm
October 31, 200322 yr Author HEAT AND GREET At the invitation of Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria, Heat owner Micky Arison took a front-row seat near New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and actor Billy Crystal at Thursday's game. "I had a ball," Arison said Friday. Heat players, including Malik Allen, also have attended postseason games. "The relationship [between the two teams]is very good. We wish them the best," Arison said. "It's going to be fun to watch them win it in Yankee Stadium." From http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/basebal...0,1027065.story
October 31, 200322 yr Weakness: Too far from fans in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Do South Floridian have to complain about everything?!?! "That franchise's ballpark only has a 38,000 seats but I wanted a 38,001 seat ballpark... so I'm not going!" Damn! You people down there complain about everything. I'd love to see one of you come to Orlando and travel a nice 35 miles to the closest mall on I-4 in the morning.
October 31, 200322 yr Mickey Arsion will make alot sense and the guy is loaded but I doubt he will invest on becoming a partner since The Heat has been losing 50 mil the last three years according to Heat management.

October 31, 200322 yr Author A 38,000 seat stadium is more than enough, no need for more. Wherever the site is, people better come out of Miami-Dade County residents take the punch. I am tired of all this crap about Miami being the savior of this team, the city-county and it's people has done nothing to support this team but lip service which is no good. Get it done.

Jeb didn't kill it! the senate did under pressure from good ole democrat micky arison, leader of south florida's cruise ship industry. jeb lives in miami and sends more project money down than lawton chiles ever did. when chiles was governor miami had roads worse than today and today is still pretty bad, but it will take more years to repair it to the present.
