BosnianBaller_
I didn't read the whole thing, but why would the red sox need Millar when they have Youk dog and Ortiz? for the bench. i doubt that millar will be starting at 1st on any teams unless the o's bring him back. i think that the red sox back up 1st baseman is sean casey so millar would be an upgrade and fan favorite

BosnianBaller_
Neither Kent or Anderson will retire. i think kent might because he was thinking about it last season. as for anderson he can still hit and will most likely find a job but i got tired of thinking where he could go so i just wrote retires, lol. dim
why would Nomar become a hitting coach? He's only 35, the Dodgers don't have faith in DeWitt at 3rd base, and Nomar still has something left in the tank, he's got a good 3 years left in him

Both of them are still too good to retire though. I think Kent might retire in a year or two, but Anderson still has a few years left in him. I could see both of them getting signed by big payroll teams.

Casey Blake was a temporary signing to spark the team to get them into the playoffs. Manny will be resigned just because LA would go into a frenzy if they didn't, and they wouldn't want to spend the cash on Blake who puts up very similar stats to a much cheaper Nomar. Also, Dewitt has never played 2nd base in his entire life i believe.

dim
I'm sad, I want Arthur Rhodes to stay with us, I don't want the Angels to get him. Also I don't want Michael Barrett. I am fine with a Baker/Lo Duca platoon all next season
FutureGM
Smoltz is pretty much done. I will be surprised if he actually plays a regular season game (will likely find out in ST that he can't do it anymore). It would make more sense for Baldelli to try and go elsewhere. Nomar is not retiring yet. He's going to try and keep playing. I am also pretty confident that Kent will hang around longer than we think. BosnianBaller_
i went back and edited some of the guys i thought would retire because you guys made some good points that they still had gas left in the tank. gonzo - phillies (he's an upgrade over matt stairs) nomar - rays (multiple infield positions and can DH once in a while) anderson - dbacks (still has some pop and can play the outfield on a young team) counsell - brewers (has been valuable during the playoffs) easley - mets (hell he's better than castillo) as for the rest i still think they retire before the season or during the season because of performance, age, or injury

They already got Weeks. I understand Anderson to the D-Backs, but they already got that kind of hitter in Clark. Nomar to the Rays makes sense, he is an upgrade over Bartlett (or w.e his name is). Gonzo will retire imo

Gonzo will retire imo i think they'll look into trading castillo this offseason. i think that the brewers want to keep counsell because he's their utility player. counsell has filled in at 2nd, SS, and 3rd for the brewers this season. i give gonzo one more year to get another championship and then he'll retire

I would LOVE to get Brad Ausmus. It won't happen because he said he'll only come back for a SoCal team, but it would be great. He still hits LHP well and would be the perfect mentor/platoon partner for Bake.
mountainfish
The Yankees are going to make a huge push for Sabathia. If they sign him, either one of their young pitchers goes or Petite goes. Pavano is not coming back.
Schnellders
The Yankees are going to make a huge push for Sabathia. If they sign him, either one of their young pitchers goes or Petite goes. Pavano is not coming back. Do you think how the Brewers have used him will influence the number of teams that will go after him? I mean, surely he is due an injury to his arm the way he has been maxed out. Whether it be having 120 or so pitches every start or the fact they sent him out there on 3 days rest 4 times in a row....it must have a lingering effect surely? He'll be resting his arm in a day or two by the looks of it. The Brewers are done. I don't think his pitching in the last couple of weeks is going to deter the Yankees. They can afford to disregard any risks, if there are any. I think he'll be fine though. The only thing that might deter Sabathia is his desire to be on the west coast.
