Posted May 23, 200915 yr Both also are latino, and of mexican decent... Just a thought that crossed my mind I remember when Mitre had that stretch where he was awesome, and then got hurt, and never came back the same, and we let him go. I think Nolasco might be on the same journey... Who would have thought Nolasco being sent down to AAA would happn this spring? CRAZY! He's looked like D-Train looked last year...
May 23, 200915 yr Not exactly comparable lol. Mitre: Had 1 month where his peripherals pointed to him not being able to keep it up. Wore down to the point of being horrible and got injured. Nolasco: Had 1 great year where his peripherals said you the man now, dawg. Has sucked this year not because of lack of stamina, not because of injury, but because of an inability to throw quality strikes with his fast ball. Their mexican heritage and the fact they were both in the JP deal is about all the comparisions amount too.

Yea but they are both mexican, both came in the same trade, both had their stint as the "ace" and both are not on the roster right now... I REST MY CASE!

You're so right....
May 23, 200915 yr I'm sure Nolasco would be happy with the comparison on the basis it means he will end up playing for the Yanks in a couple of years
May 23, 200915 yr Nolasco had a very good year last year and has always been decent at least. Mitre has had one good month in his entire career. Terrible comparison.

I don't think I recall anyone ever calling Mitre an "Ace"...They maybe both Mexican descent and RHP but the similarities end there. Two pitchers couldn't be anymore different...Mitre at best was a decent 5th starter. Nolasco had a huge season last year, and looked to be a superstar for years to come

May 26, 200915 yr I think A-Rod and Willy Taveras are similar players because they're both Latino, both are of Dominican descent, and both played ball for a team in Texas.
May 27, 200915 yr You mean for that one month :shifty Nope, half. Atleast 2 months, I mean, best SP ERA in March/April and in May, 2nd best in June. That's the first half sir. Also, I hate everything about you.

May 27, 200915 yr I know you loved the guy Rab, but you dont have a realistic view of Mitre...especially his 1st half. Your love for him is just not justifiable for as bad as he was outside of that one good month in May of 2007. I will leave it at that to stay on Admin's good side since I enjoy posting here.

I have a perfectly realistic view of him. He had one good month, one RIDICULOUSLY GREAT MONTH, and a bunch of bad months. I know what happened. But, it's not as if anyone else was good that year in our rotation. Willis? No. Olsen? No. BK Kim?? Sure, he was fun to watch with his ridiculousness, but no good. JJ/Obi/Vandy/Ani/Barone/Seddon? God, that was a horrific year. Those comparing this year to that year...wow.
