Posted October 22, 200915 yr Lot of viral hype for this one.....anyone seen it? I went to see it tonight- it's a page right out of the Blair Witch book, but that's not a bad thing. This movie was really good, mostly by preying on the fears every person has about things that go bump in the night, and not using CGI to create unbelievable monsters. Because of the way it was film, it created an awesome atmosphere of angst throughout the movie.
October 22, 200915 yr Author Fear is relative, I guess. Just like saying a comedy is the "funniest of all time"....comedy is subjective.

November 1, 200915 yr I didn't find it scary at all -- it was 90 minutes of doors closing, bumps, and wind blowing sh*t. The last little bit was mildly scary, but not really.
November 2, 200915 yr The 1st 60 Minutes wasn't scary at all but it was suspenseful. The ending was scary as sh*t!
November 2, 200915 yr I actually found it more funny than scary. The guy who plays Micah was hilarious. Especially during the first time the ghost expert arrives. I thought it was mildly suspenseful, but incredibly predictable. There were a few points where I couldn't believe how scared people were -- like:  When Katie comes upstairs and scares Micah after she slept walked to the porch swing.  The entire theater jumped, I just laughed. Not sure why, but most of it didn't bother me. The only part that made me flinch at all was:  when katie lunges at the screen at the very endÂ

Which still left a lasting impression, it was extremely creepy and awesome, but might have had a much better effect if you were watching in it in complete silence.
November 6, 200915 yr Author I'm thinking watching the movie in a theater full of people might take away from the experience, Â It's weird....when the movie first came out, people said it's a movie you HAVE to watch in a theater to get the full experience.
November 13, 200915 yr They must be doing something right as it was made on a $15,000 budget and it set to pass through the $100m barrier in ticket sales this weekend. I have not seen this film and don't plan to as generally I don't watch horror films (the only ones I do like are OTT horrors such as the Texas Chainsaw Massacre).
