Posted December 23, 200915 yr The Braves are close to a deal with Troy Glaus, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. The contract includes incentives. Glaus will play first base for Atlanta. The 33-year-old Glaus was limited to 135 plate appearances this year due to the effects of January shoulder surgery. He's played only 38.6 innings of first base in his career, all of them coming in the last two seasons. When he's right, Glaus is a threat to slug around .500 and hit 30 home runs. Pretty good signing for the Braves assuming it goes through. I'm interested in learning what the figures are for this deal, because if it's for a low cost then it's brilliant. He's coming off an injury, but the potential reward is incredible.
December 23, 200915 yr Probably takes Uggla out of trade talks with Atlanta. Good didnt want to see him in Atlanta anyway
December 24, 200915 yr I would've taken Glaus for 2 mil... I was hoping the Marlins would sign him a while ago.
