Ricky Nolasco Plans to Issue Less Than 25 Walks in 2010

Recommended Posts

Especially with this defense behind him, it's not happening. Nothing wrong with aiming high though.

Wait, what does defense have to do with not walking guys?

The more outs he's forced to make, the more difficult it becomes.

Ah ok. I didn't pick that up.

Hey, if anyone on this club can pull it off...I'd say it would be Nolasco. He always seems to surprise me when I write him off.

What Erick said. Pitching to more hitters = more chance to walk guys. Last year, trying to avoid walks instead of just knowing when to let guys go really hurt him. When hitters were ahead against him, they had a .346/.471/.615 line against. MLB average was .308/.482/.518.

I think at some point in his career Ricky is going to achieve this goal. Just a question of when. I wouldn't put it past him to do it this year.

I may have a pretty bad memory sometimes... did Ricky throw a lot of change ups last year?

His change up looks great tonight. His slider and curve are also very good. And he's got two fastballs (two and four-seamer).

Dude can throw every single one of those pitches for strikes at any time. He's filthy.
