Today, the Heat traded Daequan Cook and the 18th overall pick to the Thunder for the 32nd pick. Expect the Heat to make further moves, including trading that 32nd pick during the draft for a future 1st round pick, then using the 3 picks they have to move up in the early 2nd and taking 1 player they really like.

Sounds dumb? Well, it released the Heat of $3 million from the cap next year.

Now all we need to do is find a way to get rid Beasley and Jones and we can now afford three max players. Basically, the Heat have 4 players under contract now (Chalmers, Beasley, Anthony with an option, and Jones). Beasley is set to make around $5 million next year. James Jones has a buyout clause in his contract. So if we can rid ourselves of Beasley in a sign and trade, and we buyout JJ's contract, we'll have very very little money guranteed next season. We can get our 3 max contracts easily.

This offseason is going to be VERY interesting. No even median here, going to be very good or very bad.
