flasportsfan88
Tucker pitched two scoreless in GCL today. Good to see a nice outing by Andrew Miller... 7 IP 2 H 0 ER 6 SO 2 bb. Lefty relief spect Wade Korpi a nothing great outing, striking out the side in his only inning. (ERA down to 1.93 in AA) Mossison continues his rape with another two hits. Schnellders
Now the question is, can Miller string a few good starts together?

Sirspud
Now the question is, can Miller string a few good starts together? He better, because while this single good game is a step in the right direction, to be a major league starter good outings have to be the norm. As encouraging as it is to see that Miller is even capable of still having this type of game, it's time for him to earn his way to the majors by doing this over and over. Otherwise, we'd bring him back up to the majors only to have him be mediocre and shatter his confidence again.

MrMarlinPride
I still have faith that Miller can be a solid back end starting pitcher by age 27or 28. I'm hoping he strings 5 or 6 straight quality starts and make his way up the ladder in the minors and back to the big league level.
Admin
Is think a promotion from AA to AAA might be in order for Miller. Hopefully that isn't rushing him.

dim
Well, West is still coming back from an injury. An outing like that will help him more than you may think. Learn some things, correct them, come back and be a better pitcher. As for Andrew Miller, I have minimal hopes for him from here on out. I never liked his mechanics, and constantly changing a pitchers delivery is never a good thing. I still believe Miller (more than Maybin) is a product of the Tigers rushing him and ruining a project. I remember Miller had some sort of clause in his contract that he had to be a September call up his first season. Miller was so good at UNC, it's amazing to see how far he has fallen. But the problem is, he really seems unfixable. Maybe a bullpen guy or a #5 in the rotation, but his years when he was thought to be a top of the rotation guy are long gone. Hotcorner
Is think a promotion from AA to AAA might be in order for Miller. Hopefully that isn't rushing him. but that was his first really good outing in forever. Miller's got to be handled carefully IMO. This is like a "tear him all the way down and build him back up step by step" kinda guy.

Miller can walk the lefties while Tucker can walk the righties.

flasportsfan88
I wonder if the Marlins have been in any contact with the UNC pitching coach to see what he was doing differently his last year there.
MarlinsLou
Miller had another good start today, three in a row. Last three starts 19 IP, 0.94 era (2 ER), .94 whip (10 H, 8 BB), 6.15 K/9 (13 K), 0 HR

Sirspud
It looks like Andrew MIller is starting to find his groove. We need to keep him in that until it becomes second nature, cause if we call him up to the majors too soon and he suffers a reverse, then its starting the process all over again and there just won't be time left to fix him. Erick
8 walks/13 K's in 19 innings is progress, but it's something that doesn't really excite me all that much.

Hotcorner
yeah let's take it slow & steady but I'll take any good signs at this point. last night 7 innings, 6 hits, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 Ks. That's what we want to see.
fanofthefish
Tucker is back on the DL in Jupiter, I saw him last night at Jupiter's DH against Lakeland, he didn't say why he was on DL, just that he was on it?
