Dan Meyer outrighted, Jhan Marinez Promoted

I don't get your complaint with the front office's roster management. He pitched a scoreless inning which is what they paid him to do. They needed him that day, either they saw something or they didn't see what they needed to see, or there's a back story and they want to get him back to NOLA for some reason, or he may ailing or...who knows?

EDIT: Dawns on me Benitez might of been released to make room on the roster for Meyer. Didn't check the roster count - just guessing.

They could be showcasing him too. I mean, if they want to make some moves they have to have to dangle some bait.

That would be dumb. We're supposed to be stockpiling young arms, not trading them away. Marinez is the best bullpen arm in the organization, at the moment.

We're not buyers.

Not to mention that you don't showcase talent by rushing it to the big leagues and risk having it fail.

The reasoning behind this move is obvious, even if you don't agree with it. The Marlins desperately want to win and improve the pen, but they know that the revolving door won't work. They are seeing a lot of the cheaper options fail (Benitez) and can't make a big trade without hurting the future, so they are trying to strike gold by rushing some of these guys.

I just see the FO trying to salvage the season and are desperately trying to do so without having to trade away prospects for bullpen arms.

No, just using some logic.

If this has anything to do with a trade, it'll be Leo Nunez. If Marinez shows he's ready early on, it might give the front office a reason to trade Nunez for a couple of prospects, now that he has good value. There's a better chance of that happening than Marinez getting traded.

This is it. Marinez is simply the best right hander in the minors, it has been a toss up with him and Sanabia all season.

Love this move to see if he's ready. This kid is nasty and could be a big addition. This is not a Buente or Wood, this is big time arm. I am excited as he is the first of the next big wave of relievers, throwing in Ceda and Jennings as well.

And man is our minor league top 10 going to look rough once Morrison comes up. Everyone but Dominguez will be in A ball or lower.

That's why I don't think the Marlins will consider trading him or any other highly valued prospect. The Marlins are starting to run on empty in minor league talent, especially pitching. The only pieces I see them moving are three obvious ones (Cantu, Ross, Uggla) and some minor league throw ins. Marinez isn't a throw in.
