furcalchick
he should be in the minors, per his name. but seriously, he's going to be very great. braves fans are all pumped up about his start tomorrow at houston.
Schnellders
So can we add another to the vast amount of extremely good young talent in the NL East that will be exciting to watch for years to come???
Admin
I think you will find that dim's infatuation with this kid is sorely misplaced.
Rabbethan
I think you will find that dim's infatuation with this kid is sorely misplaced. Is this for real or is this "Gaby's going to have a .065 ISO"?
Admin
Its for real. I dont think hes awful but I am still puzzled how he was a top 10 pick. His fastball sits at 88 or 89, and his only secondary pitch to speak off is his changeup. I think he would be much better as a reliever, to be honest. dim
6 AAA starts. 4-1 record, 1.89 ERA, 12 BB's to 37 K's, 0.93 WHIP. All everybody is saying about this kid is that he's gotten stronger and he's gotten better control as he's progressed from A ball to AA ball to AAA ball. Basically, he still hasn't reached his potential. Minor's proving he's ready for the majors. All I said during the draft was I hoped Minor would fall to the Marlins because scouts said he had great control and he was major league ready from the get go. He's proving that he was one of the most major league players in the 09 draft. BTW: The article I posted earlier mentions that his mediocre ERA in AA ball could be attributed to the poor defense around him and an inconsistent curveball, which has he has since improved.
