Iowa
I think a movie about the 3 or 4 years of the beginning of rock n roll and the pioneers at the time... and their subsequent fall from grace and the events leading up to their downfalls (all pretty much at the same time) would be a great story... Buddy Holly (plane crash), Jerry Lee Lewis (marrying his 14 year old cousin), Chuck Berry (prison), Little RIchard (preacher) and Elvis (army). I think that would be a helluva story
MiRi
There is a movie on Buddy Holly (started watching it and kinda got bored with it). There's also of course, La Bamba. I think there has been movies on him, but I'd like to see a well-made, true to fact, movie on Walt Disney and his life. As far as I know, there isn't any except for documentaries. dim
This one's easy for me... The story of Fritz Peterson and Mike Kekich, two Yankees pitchers of the 1970s who literally traded lives. If you haven't heard the story, go look it up. EDIT: Actually, I just googled it and apparently there is a movie about it coming out http://sports.yahoo....?urn=mlb-220824 Amazing. Although this was said in February, so who knows if it's still gonna happen.

That sounds interesting as hell.. and after gone baby gone, i dont doubt afflecks director ability Going off the baseball theme, i would love to see a movie made about that pitcher who pitched a no hitter while tripping on acid. That would HAVE to be interesting

Entendu
I don't really believe in any religion, but there are tons of stories in the Bible that I would love to see made into movies. Basically pick one lol.
Schnellders
There has been talks about this one, but I haven't heard anything for a while - Bioshock. Such a good game that if done right, could make for an awesome movie.

jmp
The chicken runs at midnight major motion picture. Yeah, that'd be a tearjerker for sure. I'd come to the theatre with a box of tissues. I'm pretty sure there is going to be a movie about this in the near future. As for what movies I would like to see made, I would like to see a movie based on the book A Hundred Years of Solitude. Loved that book, although I doubt anyone could pull it off, in fact I think it would be impossible to pull it off, especially since the other Marquez movie adaptation (Love in the Time of Cholera) was atrocious, still, I would like to see someone give it a try. HBO is coming out with the series 'A Game of Thrones', I love the books so I'm looking forward to that.

Dr Beinfest
There has been talks about this one, but I haven't heard anything for a while - Bioshock. Such a good game that if done right, could make for an awesome movie. Hmm thinking about video games really opens this up. Assassin's Creed would be great, so would Grand Theft Auto and InFamous. Most video games would make great movies - I dont know why they dont push on that more. Unfortunately we've seen stupid movies based on video games, or perhaps video games that were terrible games that made good movies. Being an avid gamer, I'll make a list (in conjunction to the Bioshock and Assassin's Creed, already listed): #1: Red Dead Redemption: no question, easily the #1 pick. #2: Fallout 3/New Vegas: Ever seen Mad Max? The Book of Eli? Now imagine an amazing storyline, and put that into a movie. #3: Grand Theft Auto IV: Rockstar knows how to make plots. This, along with every other GTA game minus San Andres, could make a great movie. #4: Halo Series: Just as Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and all of that have their hardcore fans, Halo too has that same group. If done correctly, and I stress that point, it could sweep the box office. #5: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series: Anybody who has played more than just the online multiplayer knows how great the storyline is in this series. If you actually watch the cutscenes... potential there. #6: Mass Effect Series: One of the best RPG games (and lets face it, RPGs can create great movies) out there due to its storylines. #7:Gears of War: I'm not a fan of the game, but once again any game that creates its own world essentially fits the bill for a movie. #8: Final Fantasy Series: These games just dont go away. And there's a reason for it. The fanbase is huge. I personally wouldnt want to see it as a movie, but I could understand it. #9: Uncharted Series: excuse me for not knowing much about this game, not big on the PS3, but I know it's popular. #10: Dragon Age: Origins HM: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Bethesda isnt too far behind Rockstar with storytelling HM: Alan Wake: it'd probably make a better movie than it would make a video game to be quite honest. Dr Beinfest
You fail. God of War in my eyes is too Greek Mythology. As I said, you can make a movie out of just about any video game. Just wouldnt cut my list for top 10 (+2).
alejandrasnow
Sandman (by Neil Gaiman) Chronicles (Dragonlance Trilogy by Margaret Weiss and Tracey Hickman) There are making a television show out of it by the same man who made the show Supernatural, Eric Kripke. http://heatvision.hollywoodreporter.com/2010/09/sandman-neil-gaiman-tv-show-eric-kripke.html I like Supernatural and my sister loves Sandman (she's the one who told me about the graphic novel being adapted into tv) so I might watch it. Dr Beinfest
On another note... I'm a Wikipedia lurk. I find myself surfing page to page to page. While reading up on the millitary, and going through the prestigious medal of honor, I learned that only one man has ever been awarded the medal of honor in the US Coast Guard (under the order of the Navy). He was actually a Canadian, serving in the US armed forces. Being one of the unlikeliest of heroes, he was awarded the medal of honor posthumously. Of course, I couldnt tell you if the story is actually that great, but if it's not I'm sure you can manipulate it and just 'base it' on a true story. Shaft
Anyone ever read Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series? His magnum opus. Seven glorious books. The movie would only be cool if a ton of money was thrown behind it, like Lord of the Rings, though. And given the fact how easily King sells the rights to his stories, I'd expect that it would never come to fruition. I mean, has anyone seen the 10-part mini-series on The Stand (one of his most popular novels)? Wow, it was so BAD.
Schnellders
Just read there are plans for a Queen movie for the period leading up to Live Aid in 1985 with Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat, Bruno, Ali G) to play Freddie Mercury

More at IMDbPro » The Dark Tower (2012) Fantasy | Horror | Sci-Fi | Western - In Development | See all 7,200 in-development titles on IMDbPro Edit #2: The talks are 3 films and a tv series. However, this might all change. Personally, I would rather see at least 2 more films than the tv series. Apparently the buzz around this it's that it will be a huge project.
